Just heard about this. The art looks pretty decent. Is it any good? Does the plot go to shit? Does the writer insert some unnecessary political shit into the story?

>Is it any good?

It is a pretty good mix of adventure with horror. Horror has Lovercrafitan elements, but is avoids cliches like evil cults and tentacled eldritch monstrosities. Most of the 'horror' comes from the kids being outmatched by the antagonist and from general atmosphere.

>Does the plot go to shit?

No. It stays consistent throughout the series. Each volume is about as good as the previous one. Last one is probably the weakest, but it does not ruin the story.

>Does the writer insert some unnecessary political shit into the story?

Not really, although there is some stuff that might bother more hardcore /pol/lacks. Spoilers to follow.

<two gay couples

<one mixed race couple in a flashback

<white high school girl kissing a black guy and then briefly dating him

<elderly mentally disabled black woman is nearly stabbed by a mentally disabled white racist

And that would be it. However, if you are looking for political subtexts, there is as much if not more that counters it:

<Gay couple is assaulted by a lesbian couple

<Mixed race couple does not end up well

<Antagonist is a gender switching demonic entity

<Antagonist uses the whole 'evil seductress' angle that a decent portion of feminists hates

<Single mothers in the comic are absolute miserable messes

<Male side character wears a gown to a prom as a joke

<Main protagonist is a guy who likes fishing, is a good student, attempts to fill up void left by his murdered father, is a voice of reason throughout the book, and manages to seduce a girl

I might not be entirely correct on some of the bothersome stuff, since they are fairly inconsequential to the grand story and most of them are done within a page or two.

Well that's good to hear. The art was intriguing and I hoped that the story didn't descend into simply another diatribe. It sad that you have to ask about that sort of thing now days before you invest any time in a piece of media.

>list a novel worth of extremely pozzed shit that Marvel would envy

Well it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the level of "Ask me about my feminist agenda" or [UNSOLICITED OPINIONS ABOUT ISRAEL] or characters being massive political strawmen or any of that jazz, so no it really doesn't.

>it doesn't have these absolute extremes so all the other high octane pozz is okay, goyim

Nice goal post moving. Kys, shill.

Characters are retarded and it had an entire fucking chapter dedicated to 'Even when white guys aren't being racist, they're racist'.

Some aspects of the setting feel underdeveloped and others feel like they get too much focus, but overall, it's a really good story told well. I would recommend it for anyone wanting a decent supernatural spooky story that doesn't overstay its welcome.

That's not extremely pozzed. That shit that no one would have batted an eye to 10 years ago. When I think pozzed I think Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel where the author is clearly writing their own politics without any self awareness.

Aww, but I like evil cults.

>manages to seduce a girl

But did he fuck? If so, dropped.

Otherwise, I might give it a look. Thanks OP.

Yeah, no, it doesn't seem that bad, compared to other shit I've seen. I swear I will smash your scrawny face in if you talk to me like that in person, you pathetic fucking worm. This isn't tumblr or reddit or whatever shitty social media website you use.

Because lightly-thought speech/posts are fucking cancer. "Yeah, no", "X is 'literally' Y", "lol tl;dr" etc. are prime examples of "light-think", or thoughts that are emotionally-charged and/or did not have much thinking behind them. This is especially worse on faster boards, because there's less time to think before posting or speaking, even if this is merely illusion.

I wrote my non-spoilered reply in mimicry of the anon I replied to. Annoyingly, it does not seem to have crossed that anon's mind that maybe it isn't as bad as the OP accidentally made it seem.
