And it already looks shit.

>child characters with family issues will presumably act as main characters with their own B-plot

>using Baby Mine as feels-bait right out of the gate

>no Timothy Mouse

>no crows

>pink elephants scene is going to be some innocuous circus act

>no other elephants

>some new showman character who will undoubtedly be an unnecessary villain

I hate that Disney live action crap when its pointless. Jungle Book for example at least made sense for the CGI-showoff. But Malificent and Cinderella? Holy shit. And the worst thing, most of those movies suck so hard.

First, they were created to fix issues of the past by adding new issues of the present. Like Beauty and Beast removing the domestic conflict and adding sexist remarks about inventing the washing machine or some shit.

Second, lets take "Nutcracker and the Four Realms" for example. For kids it may sound like "WHOA four realms? What may those four realms be?". And I'm like "Crap they probably errand walk through 4 realms to find some macguffins which they could have cut out for 3 hours and the story is like half an hour but still overly convoluted." Because that's Disney these days! Removing the simple, charming originals with overconvoluted mess. Everything is Pirates 3 now.

I'm really fucking sick of remakes, but none more so than Disney remakes. Also why even make remakes of films that are timeless classics? Snow White and Pinocchio to this day still withstand the test of time in terms of animation, characters and story. Hollywood fags are too damn tasteless and cheap for their own good.

>From the imagination of Tim Burton

What does that even mean?

Tim Burton has no imagination left.

Was Nutcracker actually based off of something they did in the past? Because I have never heard of that film until the trailers for it came out.

I'm not sure, the Nutcracker went through many hands. All I know is that shitty Carebears version from reviews, and that shitty Barbie version from Cuckchan anno 2010. I bet Disney made a live action version in the 70s or something, who knows.

Spent too much time looking into the history of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. One of the wonders of having a piece of fiction produced long before the mickey mouse was put onto film.

There were multiple live action adaptations. One was even made because disney suits convinced a ballet company to put it to film. Fantasia is still the best link from Disney to the Nutcracker. But unlike the Little Mermaid, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, … the mouse hasn't permanently pissed their mark on The Nutcracker. https://archive.fo/u7he3#selection-3925.0-3925.4

There was a short from the 90s or early 2000s, with Mickey as the Nutcracker, Donald as the Mouse king and Goofy as the fairy. It was far from a serious adaptation, but really funny with some great animation. That's the only Disney version of the Nutcracker I know of.

There you go, starts at 2:45.

I especially enjoy Ludwig van Drake as Drosselmayer and the narration by John Cleese.
