Technically the animation is better since it's like 14 years ahead in technology. But it's jarring since it picks up right after the first movie instead of doing a time skip.

No idea what the thought process was. It made no sense to do that over focusing on the kids grown up. But they probably wanted to take advantage of things like making baby Jack Jack the comedic relief.

Especially since it shoots the ending of the first movie down, hard. The first ends on a note of hopefulness that they'll continue doing the right thing, regardless of the law, and then has that illusion come crashing down instantly.

Sequel is basically Elastigirl can do everything because vagina and Mr. Fantastic is typical man who couldn't survive 10 minutes doing everything my mighty vagina does on a daily basis.

No, seriously the movie is a stealth fucking Elastigirl film, she does the majority of the action while Mr. Fantastic stays at home, barely able to stay awake to help the kids do chores/homework. Guy's strong enough to be run over by a tank but oh dear God don't let him have to do woman's work.

tl;dr– In CY+3 everything fucking sucks, including this.

First one I liked not only for the family of supers having to try and fit into suburban life but also the combinations of powers the family uses in their fights, Vi's shield and Dash running inside it for instance was a good combo to show them working together like that for the first time.

This is unfortunately the case, it's just… generic. Loses the charm the original had, focuses way to much on Helen and a villain that you can see coming like a freight train away. It's not a bad film but it can't hold a candle to the bonfire that is the original.

I had to check if the rating had finally gone down for the sequel and it seems it has 80 on both imdb and metacritic and a 94% on rotten tomatoes. Seems pretty high for something that was considered generic role-reversal of a sequel even just watching the trailer. Maybe they aren't judging it that it has to be better than the first movie. Can't judge it myself yet since I didn't watch it and this thread had to remind me that it did come out on dvd/ blu-ray recently. I'll watch it later after I watch the first movie again and see if it will transition better as a continuous movie.
