Sorta. It's Brutal Doom that give The Doom Comic its pop culture appeal, and then ZeniMax Doom that cashed in on the pop culture success of Brutal Doom.

But, yeah, none of that would have happened if it weren't for The Doom Comic. Or maybe if it weren't for Doomworld getting their hands on The Doom Comic. So that's a bit of a fuck to think about.
