Never understood why people looked up to Matt and Trey as modern versions of Socrates and Aristotle. In the commentaries they just come across as two poorly researched and ignorant dudebros that really don't care about political and current events, and only making their show political focus so they can come across as deep and intellectual.

Matt & Trey got hoisted by their own petard when their anti-Trump hysteria directly contradicted their previous douche vs. turd meme. The fact is that anything Trump does will always be funnier and more entertaining than any attempt to analyze or parody it, but apparently the seething cucks at "Comedy" Central haven't gotten the memo.

I don't even like the president but hinging so many episodes on one person is not only desperate and pathetic but also ages horribly. If the SP crew can't come up with ideas without rushing to CNN for their hot take, it's time to stop.

An anon more eloquent than I described the show's overarching message as "causes are stupid, if you care then you're a sucker" which perfectly aligns with their libertarian philosophy. At one time it seemed like they were contradicting their nosy liberal kin but now we know that too-cool detachment was all an act. Trump rustled their jimmies so much that their apathetic safe-space was destroyed and now the show has changed.

To be fair, the water bear NFL episode wasn't political at all but wasn't funny either. Maybe after so many seasons of silly situations punctuated with dramatic music, the show just doesn't have the wow factor anymore. In fact, that random combination was like a manatee wrote it.
