I think I just expected a thread about him sooner, seeing as how there was a thread about him on /v/ on the same day he died.

There were already threads for his lit and movie and TV achievements, video games have I Have No Mouth And I must Scream, I thought his contributions to comics are often overlooked and needed highlighting.

He was one of the serious authors who wasn't afraid to cross into comics, and never wrote down, made us feel like he was slumming, or farmed out his work to other writers for adaptations.

He was always entertaining on Prisoners of Gravity, which I only realised was a huge poz load into comics long after watching it.
