I think Judge Dredd is not that good. Especially when it tries to be serious. 'Political' thiller story lines are one of the dumbest things I ever read and the police procedural part is just that better then your average low-budget clichéd TV series.

Because I think everybody agrees the former are among the worst Dredd stories, even the fans. I don't know why they still do them, to be honest. Although I understand the giant squid is meant to be goofy, silly and terrifying -and it is- because it's a commentary with multiple layers, it works only in the comic. I support the change the film made.

Miss Muslim isn't bad, but she's not good. After reading through a good portion of her earlier comics, she's a pretty good comic for really young kids. The writing isn't shit, but it's incredibly simple, and every story arc carries a very simple, noticable aesop such as "don't bully people" and shit like that. Unlike most SJW stuff it doesn't feel like it's trying to shove an ideaology down your throat, but it's still a bit painful to read as an adult just like old "knowing is half the battle" bits.

I think Dredd works best as a cliffhanger action/adventure/horror series, with the satire just part of the setting. All the great stories, the Cursed Earth Saga, the Dark Judges, the Judge Child, Chopper, The Pit, they were all played absolutely straight. Satire and parody only works for cute one-shots and two-parters where Dredd is just a plot element.

Okay, I watched Flash 2 from 1991 and my god is that movie an absolute piece of shit… I want to watch it again!
