 No.4121

I am not from Venezuela but a lot of them are coming here.

People are split over it,some say it's a dictatorship some just blame everything on the u.s

How do you allow feel about this? Do you consider Venezuela a far left dictatorship?

Sorry,I am happy just to get some replies

 No.4125

Venezuela is a meme country, it has been shit since its creation 200 years ago, and you could easily see it on its history. The only good thing the country has is the retarded amount of natural resources.

 No.4126

>>4125

thanks

 No.4127

We too are split on Maduro: half of us think he is a moron and the other half think he's a piece of shit.

 No.4128

This is a selfhate >>4125

Yes, memezuela is a left dictatorship, with the addition that the government party works more like a kind of Mexican cartel than a pure communist dictatorship

That obviously makes us feel very frustrated and sad

Venezuela had/has good individuals but as a contry, it had never worked.

Well that sucks,so other political parties are prohibited by law?

>>4127

Based. the left wing parties usually defend venezuela saying none of it was their fault and some even argue its exagerated the conditions there.

 No.4132

>>4130

Most of the political parties are technically banned, but in any case the "opposition" parties are currently not backed by anyone in the society, many believe that these parties have even agreed to coexist with the dictatorship.

 No.4133

>>4130

All major political parties in Venezuela are left wing, they are allowed to exist, but it does not matter.

 No.4134

>>4128

The worst thing is not the dictatorship itself, but the economic conditions imposed on us.

For example, last week I went to the ophthalmologist to see how far my myopia had progressed. Surprise, I need new glasses.

Only the crystals cost 65 million Bolivares. Keep in mind that the minimum salary is 5 million bolivares, equivalent to 2 US dollars.

>Most of the political parties are technically banned, but in any case the "opposition" parties are currently not backed by anyone in the society

Goddam it that fucking sucks,i feel bad for your people.

This country is 100% going to go on the same way in like 10-15 years max.

I hope things get better..

yeah venezuela has a horrible history of terrible governments, one after the other its a very politically inmature country. It only had democracy for 40 years in which both political parties were essentially socialists corruption was unbelievable even in those days before chavez, thats what brings chavez in the country was already going through a crisis and where sick of the 2 party system and chavez was a very charismatic individual sold the populist rhetoric and the ignorant population ate it all up. He then was shaped by fidel castro and thanks to him fidel castro was able to keep cuba and his regime going venezuela was his next leech. Chavez reformed the constitution as soon as taking power taking advantage of his popularity doing it through a popular vote. That constitution gave him all the power. He introduced the military into the government and corrupted them, turned them political so one political party is armed. The military in venezuela is loyal to the regime. chavez gained tons of outside influence thanks to the oil prices and kept other countries from doing really anything about the abuse to human rights. They were obvious to anyone, they closed one of the biggest tv stations and scared the other ones into submission. terrible populist policies destroyed the economy, private property went away he took several businesses away from people and scared anyone into ever investing in venezuela, they heavily depended on the oil (95% of income was oil) but just took the money from it they never invested in the insdustry and managed it terribly, when the oil prices crash the economy also crashes and you have todays crisis.

another non-venezuelan here.

How much is venezuelan paper currency worth? I remember reading about a new stronk bolivar, but shamefully admit i know next to nothing about this country's financial situation except that its

f u c k e d.

Havent been there since i was a kid on Margarita, in Puerto Cabello and around Las Aves, and remember them as fantastic places, and its sad to think that it will probably never be the same

Still, want to get my hands on some inflated, worthless currency. My bank could not help me, so do you have ny idea how can i get my hands on this?

These kind of people deserve to die on the most painful way possible because some of them i guess really know what's happening here and prefer defend this actual madness called Venezuela instead of just shut the fuck up.

The exchange rate in this very moment is around two thirds of a minimun wage per dollar, which is around 3.500.000 Bolivars per Dollar. With the "new" currency, it's just three zeroes less, so 3500 Bolivars per Dollar.

It's currently rising, however, and it might reach five million by the end of the week.

Don't get so excited though. Prices are roughly the same. A burger is going to cost you between one and two dollars, which is cheap, and some hotels are going to be around a dollar a night if you find them (some are decent), but anything even remotely connected to the government is going to cost you top dollar.

A passport, for example, is around 800 to 1000$ if you want it done quickly, which is to say, between a week or two, since otherwise it takes months.

If you come, I'd advise you to find a close friend, somebody you can trust to guide you around, and for the love of God don't mention you're from outside to strangers. It's beyond dangerous.

You can exchange currency with locals, but you'd be hard pressed to get inside with cash, since you are likely to have it taken from you at the airport by the guards. You could instead find someone who buys and sells dollars directly from banks, such as Wells Fargo.

I swear to god it is going to yes

Its literally unavoidable at this point. It isn't just that we mostly have left wing and far left parties(and the right doesn't even exist here, besides the social democrats that larp has right wing) it goes deeper than that(economic reasons and more)

Like i said i give it 15 years Max

they do,its just the typical "the left cant do nothing wrong" and "when its a left wing dictatorship its ok" type of rhetoric.

Tbh its almost like they are preparing for the future,in case their potential future socialist dystopia goes wrong.

thanks for answers, anon!

Shit sounds rough as fuck, even though Puerto Cabello harbor wasnt exactly safe for foreigners back in the mid-90s either..

I have no plans of returning to fair Venezuela for the forseeable future, but was hoping to find a way to transfer some dollars and have a few stacks of bolivares sent my way in return.

Do you know if the postal system and its international connection is totally fucked?

I was thinking it was gonna be quite easy to find someone who was willing to ship me a few hundred banknotes in return for some dollars/bitcoin, but I guess thats gonna be really fucking hard if infrastructure is going to shit

It would be difficult to send, but not impossible. There are shipping services that still operate in the country that are quite reliable, and as the tickets, for example 100 bolivares are absolutely worthless, I think there would be no problems with the government.

These questions are complete bullshit. "How are things over there? It's rough, isn't it?"

Of course it's rough you fucking dipshit. It's basically fucking africa over there. People are starving, crime runs rampant in the streets, people are raped and killed in the hundreds every single day, there's no water, no money, days are long and hot and the blazing sun peels your skin as you walk to the shambled bus stop at seven in the morning to work a ten hour job and go back home at six on an empty stomach to find nothing in your fridge and boredom in your mind. It's hell. Stop asking about hell. It's fucking stupid. Every single time someone finds out I'm Venezuelan I get bombarded with these stupid questions as if they didn't know how bad a third world shithole can get. Fuck you.

Let's see

>Bolivar starts a war with Spain, reason?

<"Spain refuses to give me muh heritage"

>Try to make a deal with the British?

<"No they are on Spain's side".

>How to finish Spain?

<We are going to use guerrilla tactics then retreat, wasting as many lives as possible

>Miranda wants a truce with Spain, what should we do?

<We should sell him, this war is to death, maybe he will get away like he did before, if he doesn't then… who cares?

>The ammount of our troops is too low to keep going, what now?

<Give the childs some guns and send them to die for this land, maybe some day these no-names will get a day called "The day when dispensable suckers helped me to win" or "Youth's Day" i don't mind either

>We got told that "x" commander disagrees with you, what are your orders?

<Send "x" to an expedition to the middle of nowhere where is easy to be killed, no one will mind.

>We won! what is your next order?

<I'll free the rest of south america and unite it, then i'll call it something original, like… "United States of South America!"… nononono, i thought of something even better, "United States of Venezuela"

>Ummm… Sir… Venezuela and Columbia are having dificulties, do you mind returning?

<I'm busy, i got a country named after me, i'm now trying to get the Peruvians to accept me

Yeah, things were fine 200 years ago

>>4137

Certainly so, but even some of them make something good, for that reason we still have the Raúl Leoni Dam… or more like what's left of the Simon Bolivar Dam

>>5026

You forgot the blackouts that last for around a minute or sometimes just planned ones that happen at random hours of the day and this shitty tropical climate where is hot even when it's raining.
