The thing is that you're ignoring some pretty essential things, and even "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" as an absolute rule is stupid because it can lead to getting walked on if you just keep being nice to people no matter how they treat you. How you treat people should be flexible and depend on the situation and everything, imo.
