Okay now you are just full of shit, I tried both of the Nitrogen Stouts Guinness and Left Hand, and Left Hand was significantly better in my drinking experience. No one is implying that Nitro beers are the only way to go and completely replace carbonated beer, I just had a carbonated beer last night with a six pack of the stout from the oldest brewery in existence.

Sure. What kind of beer do you want? A milk stout solely? In that case, your best bet is to just stick with Left Hand. Depending on where you are, there aren't usually a lot of milk stouts in distribution. Most breweries usually just fall back to a standard stout. Meh, it is my cultivated opinion from my years in the beer industry. Yes, I believe that Left Hand, in general and as a whole, not solely their milk stout, is unimpressive. Would I drink it if I was given it? Sure.

That is what I mean by everything generally tastes alright. There have been several beers that have been brewed, Pinedrops IPA, or Watermelon Wheat, that I would refuse to drink unless I was already drunk. Sour Ales, or also not beers I can say I enjoy.

That said, most well established brews all taste fine. You drink a porter from Founders, Dechutes, Bell, Sierra Nevada and so on and so forth, they are all going to be drinkable. Out of them there will be ones you are disappointed in and ones that you enjoy. That is all personal preference.

The difference is that Left Hand has yet to impress me. Also, in that review, I pretty much agree with him. The light body certainly is disappointing.

It's creamy and drinkable, I'm not sure what you are trying to imply when you call Nitro-packing a gimmick, sure it's going to attract a certain crowd but it makes it easier to drink, and it gives it a creamy head that demonstrably sticks around, I don't see how those are not legitimate positive qualities in beer. Any improvement on beer besides making it cheaply and possible to drink is a "gimmick", any change in beer since the original type of beer that was first brewed, whatever that was, would have to be perceived as a gimmick in some regard. A gimmick, to me, is something that doesn't add anything desirable, and as a larger beer drinker than I am a liquor drinker I can say confidentially that it was a fairly impressively drinkable beer for me.

It isn't essentially a no-value gimmick. Sure, a creamier head is a plus. What makes it a gimmick is that only a handful of breweries do it, and out of the ones that do, Left Hand Milk Stout is by far the most well established of it. Call them a trailblazer if you prefer, I don't care. When AB and Coors started aluminum bottles, that was and is a gimmick. When Rogue used the yeast of beards to brew a beer, that is a gimmick. Call it what you want.

I distribute beer. I work for one of the top 10 distributors in the nation. I deal with a lot of beers. And not only the ones I distribute, though that alone would give me vast experience.

Look, like and drink whatever you want man. If you are looking for a nitro milk stout, you found, essentially, the only one on the market. There are better beers out there though.
