the reason I'm doing it is that I can tell that if I get any fatter and I'm gonna have diabetes and I know my eating is out of control.
I've come to a point where even if I get medication to help me lose weight for 3 months I put it all back on within a month of coming off of the medicine.
it's either this or suicide and when the alternative to surgery is death I'm very inclined to save 400 dollars a month until I can cover my health insurance deductible.
My BMI is currently 43.3 which is, essentially, morbid obesity. I need to make a change and FAST.
I've been making so much progress in life and honestly I'm blown away by the fact that I'm managing to keep up with life right now when 2 years I was ago I was a drooling zombie in a mental ward that could barely keep track of moment to moment life. now I'm a fully functioning adult in a job that could very well turn into my career. I'm living in my own place and not living in poverty the way I did 3 years ago when I tried to live on my own for the first time.
but there's a problem in all of this. I'm fat. really fat. and to the point where I'm having trouble walking long distances (had to walk to work, which is 2 miles, for two days and by the end of it I was barely capable of standing up). This is the next step of progress in my life. The only other thing I can really do to improve my life is to further my education and honestly that comes second to my well-being. first I need to get healthy again, then I need to build personal relationships with people outside of work again, then, and only then once I've got everything together, do I think I'd have the ability to juggle getting a degree and working a full time job.
This is just a step along the way to where I want to be in life. A step on a mountain that gets steeper with every step. This trial diet is a test and if I crack I know that I need to prepare myself better for next time I do it, because once I get the money and I've consulted with a doctor, it'll be time to do it for real.
it's going to happen, and it'll be worth it in the long run. because no amount of video games and delivery pizza is worth living the rest of my short life a morbidly obese blob of fat that can barely fucking walk to work.
