This was my biggest problem with Priests in WoW. I always play as much PvE content as I can in any MMO I pick up because the game shouldn't have to be carried by the people that populate it. Healer-dedicated classes are generally much less efficient at doing PvE stuff so I tend to stray from them. I usually play Tanks or Casters. If the game has decent stealth mechanics, that's usually a good contender too.
I played Paladin in WoW for the same reason you play healers. Self-Sustain. I can be efficient and not rely on people. How are white mages for PvE content?
