Lets rip the band aid off. Jojo part 8: Jojolion has now been going for longer than the entirety of Steel Ball Run, arguably Arakis best work, yet in more time than that manga's entire run Jojo part 8 has barely any real development, its forgotten all its original hooks like the Wall Eyes and its character development is more haphazard and random than the current trashfire that is Shingeki no Kyoujin.

It seems like the only arc that is nobodies favourite and at best people will say 'b-but shakedown road was pretty good! and it was. However Shakedown road was SIX fucking years ago. The wall eyes are gone, the fucking corpse of jesus christ is gone, jhonny has been name dropped like 3 times and characters like the female jotaro in the second timeline being the family maid who never appears in the fucking house again. when she is employed as the fucking house maid.

I hoped when the plant appraiser showed up things would improve and to be fair the last story with the mother and generic love interest was a step up. But now its setting up both the hospital as this stronghold of a cabal of rock people and turning the little kid into this moriohs Kira. Its just a fucking mess and it sucks to say because even before the mainstream fad period hit i've always liked Jojo quite a lot but after the amazing high of part 7 part 8 feels like the new low for the series overall.

Is there anyone that likes Jojolion? anyone at all? or are you also just reading out of habit at this point?

Unless something ties this all together to make it a mediocre manga, It will be another part 5 where there are so many different plot points that are just brought up and dropped giving a disappointing and empty feeling at the end. Maybe Araki is working more on advising the anime shows or fashon line or some shit and it is taking up more of his time for his manga. The seinen month long format doesn't seem to be working with the quality we're receiving and some panels look like he stole Michael J. Fox's stand. Maybe he's not wanting to write jojo anymore and that makes sense but with what were getting it would be nice for somebody to get an explanation about what the fuck Araki is thinking and why he is doing what he does with part 8.

It feels like beserk to me. It's definitely good and there is a lot of setup for something amazing to happen but not worth 7 years of waiting and months of hiatuses with nothing of importance happening. This manga will definitely be looked better upon by people jumping into it 30 years later (if we're lucky) who are able to read the whole story at once.

I just want an update to ASB with 60fps, Heart to the Future speed, Eyes of Heaven characters + baoh + Princess Irene + PT darkboy.

I stopped reading two years ago, I don't think it's a bad part, just bizarre. Also, Araki struggles with consistency and forgets plot points a lot.

Opinion coming trough: Morioh/alter universe Morioh bores me to death. Rad shit happens, it's not a bad setting per se but it just depresses me and I don't know why

I like part 8. Mainly because jo2uke is very cool and charismatic. I don’t agree on some of your and OP’s points, like araki forgetting the wall eyes and shit cause he’s done that multiple times. It seems to me like he found a pretty good plot line with the fruits and the equivalent exchange disease that holly has and jobins son might get, and jobin and his son are a cool duo too. BUT you guys are right that this part is longer than SBR and the real villain hasn’t shown himself, we still just have lackeys and shit. This part will definitely be enjoyed far more by people who read it all at once after completion. Araki just needs to get the plot rolling and stop fucking around with back story or subplot chapters.

Thats the thing: i think this is near the end. 13 minutes to the rokakaka fruit blooms and todays chapter is a week flashback about jobins son. i think its just going to be a gang of rock people and for the first time there is no significant villain. it feels like a one chapter epilogue to SBR got extended for years.

I guess I liked it for quite some time but as the years went by I'm struggling to remember stuff but don't feel any impetus to re-read it.

So yeah deep down I'm just reading it out of habit and don't really feel any attachment to it. Some of the individual arcs are entertaining but all together this might be the least coherent thing Araki has put out.

He's not the final boss.

In case you've forgotten, there are two rock-people organization : the Smugglers (Damo Tamaki) and the Researchers (Urban Guerilla aka the doctor).

While the Smugglers group were all killed, the Researchers group were only recently introduced. The final boss would probably be the Researchers' boss.

They want the new Rokakaka because it'll somehow elevate them above humanity.

All of this is very reminiscent of part 2 :

I feel like this is a bit unfair, as the actual length is still shorter. It's just been running longer because of all the hiatuses early on when Araki was working on the 25th anniversary stuff and SBR having been weekly when it first started.

I don't entirely disagree with you, it does feel like a mess that's still not even really clear where it's heading despite it probably having about four volumes left. But I've been enjoying it more again since Mamezuku showed up, and I'm actually looking forward to seeing what led up to Tsurugi murdering Norisuke.

I do still have some hope that Araki hasn't completely forgotten some of those past plot points, especially the rock eyes and they'll come back up before the end. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't and it ends up just as much as a mess as it is now, but I want to believe.

In the same numbered volume in Jojolion we have introduced more fucking rock people who just want the fruit while gappy has done literally fuck all but tell his waifu shes wrong because he is plant appraisers jobber.

That really illustrates the difference in pacing.
