What did /animu/ think of this anime?

I remember watching it a while back. Too short to really bother me but too long for 26 episodes. It was still a shounen jump show that didn't over stay its time. I decided to rewatch it again and I didn't hate it less than I did watching it the first time.

Very different feel, there's no historical drama or (vaguely) realistic combat. Busou Renkin is all about a guy getting in way over his head in a secret war and becoming kickass thanks to his refusal to give up. Also about a hot chick with a scar across her nose, but like any good shounen fighting anime, it's really about manning up and fighting the good fight. 26 episodes is a good fit because the simple-fun formula would get old if they dragged it out longer.

Great shit. Hit all those shounen buttons and some toku ones I didn't know existed yet. That scene with Bravo and Papilion in not-McDonald's is great and I wish more shows did scenes like it. Also the OP gets you excited for the show.

Not to spoil anything, but the villains have no problems with killing and the heroes kill when necessary.
