The director, Furukawa Tomohiro [ https://anidb.net/cr15956 ] only has one other credit as the assistant director for Yurikuma Arashi (girls being gay: bears edition), but overall I'd say he did a good job considering its his first project in the driver's seat.

It looked nice but I got bored and quit after 4 episodes coz nothing was happening.

I loved this show, it's a genuine treat overlooked by plebs and toonaminiggers like >>66583

I liked that there was more to the plot than cute girls doing acting things and that the story wasn't so straightfoward but I wish MC had a better reason to become a stage girl than "I saw this play with my childhood friend and we promised to do it again later"; most of the other girls had better reasons to fight. I really don't see how banana, who had at least 5 times the experience of the other girls, in fighting at least would lose to this nobody.

Plot armor. Plus Banana would just live the same year over and over for all eternity. It was her slice of heaven but it was true stagnation. Still my favorite girl of the series.

They used a lot of first-time voice actresses as well which allowed them to splurge on their animation budget which was nice. I don't recall any instances of the voices feeling flat either so the VAs also did a good job, considering not only their novelty but that they had to do insert songs and EDs as well.
