A general for shows you don't think are worth their own thread. Convince anons to watch your favorite garbage show, discuss your favorite trash show, bully other anons for their nice shit taste.

I'll start: SAO: Alicization is about kirito (again) getting stuck in an mmo (again) but this time he:

>couldn't save the titular grill, Alice

>doesn't have a harem (yet)

>doesn't have gary stu status in game (yet)

>stuck watching the village idiot hit an immortal tree with a lvl 1 rusty axe every day

>surrounded by literal npcs who act like people

>time is accelerated in mmo so what seems like days in game are only a few hours in real life

>is slowly wasting away IRL because can't eat or workout when he's in game

>has no way to control whether he's in game or not because the game has somehow hijacked his subconscious so if he passes out he's back in game (unverified)

>can't figure out how to log out (again)

they spend some time reintroducing all of the characters from the previous installations of SAO but the current arc is just kirito stuck in mmoland so the cast is more tidy.

 No.64075

Not a bad idea OP, considering many shows don't have their own thread. Shows I'm still watching that are lacking threads:

>Juliet

Harmless fun with based Lidenfilms. Moves at a good pace and has some top tier waifus.

>Yagate no Kimi

Actually has promise to be a touching romance story. Seems to be handled pretty well and maturely.

>Space Battleship Tiramisu s2

Literally always great and objectively without flaws, best short of the past 2 years.

To be fair, he arrived ten years later. Can't exactly blame him for that.

 No.64089

>Karakuri Circus

Genre: shounen manga adaption (manga has already ended, so filler episodes are unlikely)

Target audience: people who think JoJo got too normie and need something less well known

Synopsis: Narumi is a martial artists, who will die if he can't make people laugh because he suffers from a rare plot-related disease. He saves the young heir of an industrial empire who was about to be abducted and by doing so teams up with Shirogane (voiced by Megumi Hayashibara), a female circus performer using a huge wirepuppet to fight off bad guys.

Together they protect they protect the little boy from his crazy family and cross paths with other stand puppet users.

Yagate no Kimi seems (so far) like a legitimate romance, likely the best this season and perhaps the best all year. Citrus was gratuitous girl-on-girl action with weak forced drama padding out the rest.

Besides the fact that they both feature girls loving girls, the two are nothing alike.

I will go with Kaiji.

>Tension that builds throughout

>High stakes and very vivid visual metaphors for what is going on throughout the scenes.

>Reletable main character that is an underdog story

>Written by a hugely known recognized mangakan of the Gambling genre.

>Has the Jojo like katakana in scenes

>Music is really well done

>Animation is well done where it needs to be despite not having the greatest budget

>Everyone i know that has watched it likes it

If only more people watched this series than sleep on it. They would recognize how great it is. There is also a prequel series going on right now called Middle Manager Tonegawa which i recommend after you watch Kaiji Season 1 and 2. Its criminally underrated. Hopefully more people will respect it as the word gets out.

I gave this anoter try, and came to an interesting hypothesis. It was animated by two completely different teams. Any scene that is actually animated has atrocious art and clunky animation. While lewd still scenes are significanly better. So I'm guessing they outsourced most of teh work to chinks or something, and keps good artists to draw only a few key frames.

Dunno if it's worth a thread or not, but since there's not one in the catalog, I'll throw a post in here for Double Decker. It's set in the same universe as Tiger & Bunny, but as someone who hasn't seen that before I can say that it's not necessary to have watched it to follow what's going on. It's pretty much a buddy cop series with some outlandish character designs, and a plot revolving around a drug that can give people mutant superpowers and the crime syndicate that's distributing it. Most of the entertainment comes from the banter between the characters who generally don't take each other seriously, yet still manage to get the job done. There's some CGI but it's restricted to the fight scenes, and it's pretty well-done for CGI. Would recommend if you want something light and fun that you don't have to think too hard about.

The narrator is definitely the best character though. Hilariously over-the-top and making fun of the cast and plot throughout.

 No.64552

>>64535

Not having seen it, I can't say for sure, but I don't recall any sponsorship thing at all. It's just following the adventures of this special detective squad that's trying to quash the spread of Anthem (the drug). As for deaths…honestly, I can't remember if any of the bad guys have died so far or not. They get shot with anti-Anthem bullets which neutralize their mutations, but then I think they just get arrested after that. But I guess that just fits in with the tone of the show. We'll see as it goes on.

Heh, Inuko is the best.

Episode 0 was out in april, I'm almost sure I saw it back then, but couldn't really remember it all. Still, I felt like turning it into a webm for completionist's sake.

I also forgot to add Asenshi's notes. So here they are:

Notes:

>Sobaudon returns. Go back to Episode 6’s Room Camp if you’ve forgotten what the joke is there.

>The main note this episode is about the title, which is used throughout the episode. ‘Hora’ (法螺, but more commonly in kana) stems (probably) from the ‘horagai’ (法螺貝), the the Japanese name of Charonia tritonis (‘Triton’s trumpet’). Big conch shell; makes a sound when you blow it. This trumpet-blowing evolved over time to mean telling tall tales, or exaggerating in general (it is, though, a bit different from ‘blowing one’s own horn’). Or rather, to blow the horn (ほらを吹く, ‘hora wo fuku’) is associated with that, while by extension the tales or stories themselves would be (roughly) the ‘hora’.

>So ‘hora’ was translated as ‘bull’, ‘horafuku’ as ‘spouting bull’, etc. This bull (meaning nonsense or lies or whatever else; I’m sure you know) actually has a separate etymology from ‘bullshit’, though they’ve ended up meaning close to the same thing.

>The ability to use ‘bull sisters’ (ほら吹き姉妹) is also a very fortunate coincidence.

Thank god I'm not the only one. I have no idea why I enjoy it since it's so laughably generic (one of the fights literally has the whole "you will lose because friends make you weak" "oh no how did I lose" "it's because you had no friends" spiel), but if I had to hazard a guess, it's because it really doesn't take itself seriously at all. The Black Bulls are entirely one-dimensional but in an entertaining fashion, and the fact that 90% of the series revolves around them makes it pretty fun overall.

I mean, don't go in expecting high art or anything, but it's surprising that a show I was going to write off as complete garbage has been something I've been thoroughly entertained by.

>Imouto discount eromanga sensei

I don't even mind the retarded plot for a romcom. But the art is just atrocious.

First, I was hoping for an isekai without an OP character. Instead, we got more of the same. Second, it has videogame logic in a world that isn't a videogame. It's not even based on some in-universe game. The sad thing is that it doesn't look half bad, but I can't keep up with it.

>Space fishermen, I mean, FisherWOMEN, I can't even

Aside the cute genki MC, nothing about this one is compelling. If the kids have to navigate in those submarines for the action scenes, why not make them look cool? There is a lot of focus on those summons, but what the hell are they? Magic? And who thought space fishing with NORMAL FISH would be a good idea?

Anything stored in the backlog for later?

>Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru

>Tsurune

I find sports anime comfy, even when they feature autistic teens with past dramas. I'm behind on a few episodes though, and haven't mustered the interest to watch them, but probably will, soon. Both reek of fujobait though, so the lack of fanservice is another reason why I'm not too pumped to get back to them.

>Karakuri Circus

Discount jojo. First episode was pretty mediocre. I probably won't miss much from not watching it, but can't bring anything too bad to say about it either. So maybe someday I'll give it another try. Maybe.

>Fully aware, doesn't say anything when she arrives, doesn't say anything

>MC helps her out of her pod when she does ask for it the next day

>Demands clothes, proceeds to destroy MC's prized possessions when he asks who she even is, having all the right to ask

>Granted free food, clothes, shelter, comfort and entertainment, still threatens to cause further property damage when the MC shows rightful annoyance to her lack of cooperating in answering simple questions

>Taken to a clothes store on MC's goodwill, fucking armlocks him enough to cause him pain, then demands an unreasonable amount of clothes

>Makes a promise with the MC not to use her telekinesis but doesn't tell him that she explodes spontaneously due to lack of use of said powers, blows up his entire house

>Is surprised that he didn't even scold her once, despite the guy being Yakuza

>MC gives her a big-ass bowl of her favorite food as reward for doing the one thing he told her to do, which is just to rip some trees off the ground

>By the end of the episode, she finds the MC stuck in her pod, and promptly leaves him stuck overnight when he asks for her help, despite him helping her when she asked for it (which she only did a day after her arrival), as if he had done something to warrant such act of revenge in the first place

I want to like this show but the first episode didn't leave that good of an impression. She says she "follows orders" like some sort of servant and then acts on her own, going out of her way to pester the MC who's gone out of his way to help her out. Is it going to get better? Unwarranted impoliteness pisses me off.

That's a main theme actually. Hinna is a freeloader that only someone with a heart of gold like Nitta could love.

>Kirito isn't a Gary Stu

>Those are just asspulls

The story goes out of its way to make him a special snowflake, you dumbass nigger.

For example, in season 1 :

- he's the only one who can dual-wield weapons

- the devs reward him with op stats because he was a beta-tester

That's not how online games work, you fucking faggot.

>he's the only one who can dual-wield weapons

Yes the game rewards unique abilities to certain individuals. He also says that if someone like Yuuki were in SAO, he wouldn't have gotten it. Is your problem that he is good at games or that the game has unique abilities they give out to people? If you say the second one, ok but that's not an asspull, if you say the first one, well, anything action related is not for you.

>the devs reward him with op stats because he was a beta-tester

Fucking where. Everyone's stats was reset. The only reason people hate on beta testers is because they have more knowledge of the game.

You could have gone with "oh how can a solo player be one of the top players in the game" (he parties up with people often to farm xp more efficiently and he also regularly joins the frontline parties) or the last fight but no, you are too butthurt over the series you chose probably the worst examples of him being a gary stu^TM.

You are clearly upset so here, https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ make good use of this link. You clearly need it.

It's an MMORPG, you dumb retarded nigger. You can't give unique abilities to certain select individuals!

All online multiplayer games implement anti-cheat and anti-hack systems to prevent certain players from having an unfair advantage over others.

But no. The author devs played favorites, and gave Kirito unique skills that nobody else can have!

This point alone shows that Kirito is privileged as fuck. [ Gary Stu points +1 ]

>The only reason people hate on beta testers is because they have more knowledge of the game.

There were around 1000 other beta-testers, and yet none of them were as OP as Kirito.

A good summary of Kirito's Gary Stu-ness :

"It’s going to be about this badass dude who wears nothing but black. He also uses a sword one-handed ’cause he’s so cool. He can take on groups of people and not even break a sweat. He can even fight dragons head on! Fuck yeah! He knows everything too. He knows when his enemies are going to strike! Oh yeah, he totally meets all these cute, hot babes on his journey. Too bad it’s these same babes that screw everything up!! If it weren’t for them, my main man would never lose! But he saves most of them anyway ’cause he’s just alpha like that. That’s why he usually works alone. People just don’t get him. He has a pain in his heart that others just don’t understand."

How can you be so autistic about this fucking point. Games aren't supposed to kill you when they die either so is unique skills that unbelievable?

>There were around 1000 other beta-testers, and yet none of them were as OP as Kirito.

Yes but being strong is being a Gary Stu now? And yes, not all beta testers were good at the game, much like game journos who get into game alphas can't get past the tutorial.

You ironic weebs have really dumbed down. Go watch some youtube clickbait videos on why sao is bad at least so that you can get some ammunition. Why are you so upset? No more (You)'s for you.

>Games aren't supposed to kill you when they die either so is unique skills that unbelievable?

Apples and oranges, faggot. The justification for the former and the latter are what matters.

- the game can kill you because the players are rigged to the equipment, and the people who designed the equipment implemented a death switch

- the unique skills are there because the devs play favorites. The devs played favorites because ?????

This whole point alone shows that Kirito is privileged as fuck, and thus a Gary Stu.

>Yes but being strong is being a Gary Stu now?

No. Making everyone else incompetent and worthless to show how great the MC is is what Gary Stu is all about.

>And yes, not all beta testers were good at the game, much like game journos who get into game alphas can't get past the tutorial.

So the other 999 beta testers were all game journos? Stop being dishonest, you filthy kike.

>You ironic weebs have really dumbed down.

Says the dumb gorilla nigger who can't even connect two dots together.

>SAO

All I know about it is that it is extremely popular and that the creator admitted to never playing an MMO in his life.

Is any of it good? LNs, manga or anime?

 No.77435

>>77433

I dropped the anime about 6 episodes in. I can deal with overpowered MCs being Gary Stus because sometimes I want to have a power fantasy. SAO however is insulting to the intelligence at how dumb it is. If you want MMO anime look into .hack and if you want power fantasy look into Hellsing Ultimate.

 No.77441

>>77433

SAO has a few problems to it, but here's the deal breaker for me: if you don't like one specific girl, namely Asuna (I don't, I'm not into "older, super mature" girls), you can drop it right away, because all other girls are literal nobodies aside from some spinoff characters.

I heard he's aware of how "bad" the mmo part is (dunno if real, never found a source), but even if you ignore it as part of the setup there's still the writing and being isekai which are some people are tired off.

GGO spinoff is pretty good, or so I've heard (haven't finished it yet)

btw, should we use a new thread for winter2019 season or keep using this one?

There's a winter season is coming thread. We could migrate over to that one for next season.

First ep felt rushed, and it even had a longer runtime, I don't know how they managed it.
