Hey /animu/, never noticed there's another actually ACTIVE anime board that isn't a circlejerk, so I really, really wanted to talk about this issue with people who don't just watch the same genre of anime all the time and that don't ban you by citing "spam" any time you bring up a point they don't really like: the subject matter, which I hold very dear to me in my autistic manchild mind is the absolute fucking state of Watamote.
How could one of the pinnacle of cringe comedy turn into a shitty slice of life manga filled with vapid characters that don't really do anything but go on school field trips, act as extreme, one-dimensional caricatures and soak up so many panels that Tomoko is lucky to have four or five speech bubbles for entire chapters, wherein she acts absolutely nothing like her pre-school-trip arc self, with no real explanation or defining moment as to how her personality flipped that quickly (barring her feud with Komi-something-san), and how, despite her personality being absolutely terrible regardless of arc, she manages to have a harem spontaneously form around her despite the fact that none of the characters actually like her barring Yuri? How did we go from an autistic girl making reaction faces and acting out juvenile power trips while lowkey wanting to be normal into Sex and the City with high school nips?
