I mentioned in another thread that I'd like to play this with fellow /animu/ anons but not a lot of people saw it so here we are.

>what is Neotokyo
Neotokyo is a free-to-play online FPS heavily inspired by Ghost in the Shell set in a futuristic Japan. The game has been abandoned by its original developers but is still played by a small, tightly-knit userbase who occasionally release new maps or updates to the game. Some of the developers have later worked on the recent official Ghost in the Shell game that flopped.
The OST is great and it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing game I've ever played. The maps have little details in them like vending machines, Japanese porn magz and Japanese posters and maps are set in typical Japanese areas like subways and Shinto shrines.
>what's the gameplay like
The game gives you 2 abilities, alternative vision and cloak, whose effectiveness depends on what class you play. Alternative vision can make it easier to spot invisible enemies and cloak makes you temporarily invisible.
There are 3 classes, Recon, Assault, and Support. Recon is the fastest but has the weakest armor. They have the highest cloak capacity and can jump higher than other classes. This class is often used for stealth/sniping purposes as Recons can get on high platforms where they are difficult to spot. They have a det pack in their arsenal.
Assault is the easiest for beginners to use, they have stronger armor than Recons, slightly lower cloak capacity but do have better starting weapons and grenades.
Support is the heavy-type class. They cannot sprint, walk very slow bu they do have the strongest armor and best starting weapons. They also have smoke grenades in their arsenal.
>what's the playerbase like
The game is mostly inactive outside of friday and saturday nights. The most active I've seen it was 30 players playing at once. The playerbase consists mostly of Europeans and the more active servers are hosted from Europe. Americans will often experience game-breaking lag when joining European servers and vice versa.
I read that some people from our /v/ occasionally play the game and there's also a lot of people from halfchan on there. Generally, the players are not thin-skinned normalfags, most people won't mind if you call someone a faggot or nigger if you lose a round and a lot of players enjoy that kind of banter.
>how do I play it
You'll have to install it through Steam.
>can my toaster run it?
Minimum requirements expect you to have 512 MB RAM and a 1.7 GHz Processor so I'd say yes.
So yeah, if anyone's interested we could plan a night where we play this together, if it's fun we could make it a weekly thing.
