>live action GITS releases
>reaction from /a/ was lukewarm, saying it was not bad, but not competent enough to be called good
>finally watch it myself a while back
>plot about a government agency accidentally letting loose a sentient AI program is turned into generic evil corporation plot
>"major" is not Motoko's rank but rather her name as she's considered the property of the company rather than a human being despite the movie copying the elevator scene where Batou says otherwise
>competence of all other characters is massively toned down, Togusa in particular
Was /a/ just that pozzed by the time the movie released that people there couldn't see what a god fucking awful adaptation this was? It's like a GITS short story written by someone who thinks Micheal Bay movies are high art. Everything that made the original fun and intelligent was gutted.
