This one started weird, I almost dropped it then. It got a bit interesting on eps 2 and 3, and on ep 4 kind of had me. The fact that there isn't a thread about it already tells me other people probably dropped it early.
Well, this is a kind of slice of life that cuts too deep and close for me. Of all the improbable scenarios SoL anime has given us, one that I didn't expect to long for was to have otaku friends, keep an otaku way of life, and still conciliate all that with a relatively normal lifestyle (well, at least "normal" as in "efficient").
So yeah, looking forward to see where this will go, or if there's going to be any kind of actual trouble or conflict in it ep 4 dodged one, but it might come back in the futureAre they really together for convenience? And even so, why would you worry or bother about that, if being an otaku itself is so hard, wouldn't finding a non-crazy otaku mate be the equivalent of hitting jackpot? Only in japan being an otaku is only mildly fringe and still allows you to look for different options in partners

I didn't bother making a thread about it because I assumed, rightly so, that there'd be maximum 4 people throughout the board watching it. Also because it's not really good. It didn't survive the transition from manga->anime very well. It's a comedy above all, and the timing, reactions, faces, etc etc, just aren't coming through very well in animated format. Ignoring that the manga isn't very good either. It's hipster 'us otaku' schlock, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's not typically a sign of quality should it be your only selling point.
I like the OP though.

definitely gives off that vibe, showing clips of real 'tism vidya and a few niche hobbies while not really interacting with any of them in a meaningful way.

I'm enjoying it, episodes centered around a theme and self contained (resolved in the same episode, for the most part). Could start introducing some supporting cast, those 4 alone might be enough for a few more episodes, but not an entire cour (not without some major drama, and even then other characters are welcome)
>>25185
Yeah, the komiket episode was fine. Otherwise they could have delved deeper into each otaku interests a bit more. Like giving us more about cosplayers, gamers, etc…

Shit episode. So much devoted to estabilish that Hirotaka's brother is a normalfag. This could be covered in half an episode.

I wish this weren't so painfully slow.
I've been watching it on 2x speed and it still feels slow.
There's just way too many long segments where nothing happens, and it's not like the silence or absence of action adds tension or drama. In fact, I think you could make this into a 7-minute short without losing any content.

And they even go through multiple manga chapters each episode. Sadly it is kind of slow.
So far the episode with Hirotaka's brotehr was teh absolute worst. They could have introduced him in half an episode, and dedicated the rest to something else.
Oh wait, that episode with their friend couple fighting was the worst. What kind of nonsensical makeup was that? Japanese logic eludes me.

OK, fujo talking aside, this was a pretty cute episode.
In-game avatars resembled who they were.

I just noticed this was the last episode of this series.
11 episodes
Eleven episodes of going nowhere at all. The way it presented itself at first had me hoping for more. I even overlooked the big bang theory feel it had. But it turned out to be average (maybe slightly below average) and forgetable in the end.
Just 11 episodes. Not even a memorable finale to leave you thinking either "well this was satisfying" or "this ending was shit and makes no sense". No. Just a regular episode that might as well feature right in the middle of the season as ep7 or whatever.

Yeah it doesn't do much. Characters start a little boring but they don't develop much.
It had me going up until that episode when everyone goes to Hirotaka's home (OP's webm), since it seemed things would move forward a bit. Then they didn't
