I never followed SAO and only played SAO:FB because it was made by the guys who made Freedom Wars. It actually wasn't a bad game, you could tell there was some "Kirito is so cool" shit going on but that was mostly background noise- there was that Kirito Mode part, but it was short. It sucks how the Thorn (UFG) doesn't serve much purpose at all, and I'd have liked some large enemy battles with more emphasis on parts breaking and such, but after finishing it I'm looking forward to a sequel.
As for the anime, the first episode wasn't bad, so it's the 3-episode rule for me.

Is it going to by a copy paste of the game from the anime? Will we have retarded stats that don't make sense? Will there be crowds of NPCs to make it seem like using a lightsaber to deflect bullets is a mindblowing and original idea? How is this going to capture the spirit of SAO at all?
No.21646

The only thing Freedom Wars has going for it over Fatal Bullet is that the thorn was a well thought out, useful tool rather than a gimmick. Aside from that, FW is a mediocre hunting game with drop rates rivaling PSO2's (read: near zero), and it has the single worst weapon upgrade system I've ever seen in a game. I might have been able to tolerate the layers upon layers of needless RNG in getting a good roll on my weapon and then putting good abilities on it, but being told to wait half an hour for something that could turn out to be trash, wasting both my time and my rare materials, was pure bullshit.

I'm sure that plays a small factor in it, but the real glaring issue is that it's overall poorly written, squanders its setting, stars a Mary Sue on par with Drizzt, and is somehow everpresent in the entry-tier weebdom. As someone that has watched every bit of it and even played a couple of the games, it really isn't a "good" franchise. It is however, entertaining, it presents an interesting universe/premise, and the girls are cute. The problem is the writing is all over the place, and the show devolves into pure retard territory every time.
The first half of the first season was decent. Then it goes off the rails in the following half with the brain experiments, tentacle rape scientists, and Kirito hacking his way to victory because reasons.
Season two does the same shit, the GGO arc was flawed but okay, then they tore it all down with the shitty sob story featuring VR AIDS-chan. The audience is expected to be deeply sympathetic to a character they introduce out of nowhere, and her defining traits consist of being a sick girl that is cute and plays a game. It's not enough to emotionally invest anyone, so the entire arc felt like you were just waiting for her to get her name on the wall and croak.
A lot of the hate comes from it being grossly overrated in both Japan and the west. This show was also on toonami, so you have THOSE kind of fans in the mix. The hate is excessive, but not baseless. Personally I enjoy it as a guilty pleasure, and I know simply admitting that around a lot of so-called elitists will get them frothing at the mouth with rage.

She didn't have that level of speed when she started. Then she got her ass handed to her a few times by big monsters like that centipede thing in episode 2. So what does she do? Put points in agility so she can run away and not get wrecked.
Eventually, she figured "might as well keep putting points in agility, it helped so far." So she kept putting points in until she got sanic fast.
Her other stats must suck though. So no heavy lifting. Getting hit would suck more. Her aiming stat is still low, so that's why she sticks to smgs.
Basically, she min-maxed into a pure agility character.

Does anyone know what the actual stats are supposed to be for GGO, or how that all works in general? I can't remember them for shit (if they were ever even touched upon,) but there's HP, damage values, levels, etc etc, so I imagine it works a bit like a shitty MMOFPSRPG. Builds could get pretty wacky if you apply even the slightest bit of unorthodox thinking to them, like Gary Stu and his lightsabers, or this sanic-speed loli.
No.22876

From what I copied off the wiki page.
The basis of the game's gameplay is to increase one's level, which in turn increases stats that are increased based on player's choices. These stats determine how a character plays and operates in the game, the interval selection can not be altered later, so players must know how they wish to develop in the long-term.
Stats
AGI (敏捷力[3] or 敏捷性[4], Binshou-ryoku, or Binshou-sei or Ajiriti?, Agility) - Affects the player's fire speed (decreases Bullet Circle appearance[5] and stabilization time[6][5]) and evasive ability.[6] Also affects the player's run speed.[7][4]
DEX (器用さ[4][8], Kiyōsa?, Dexterity) - Narrows the area of the Bullet Circle (increases accuracy).[9] The stat is also needed for setting traps.[4]
LUK[3] (幸運[3] or 運[4], Kouun or Un?, Luck)
SEN (知力[4], Chiryoku?, Sensibility)
>I guess SEN is equivalent to perception.
STR (筋力[3][4][8], Kinryoku?, Strength) - determines the carrying capacity and ability to wield certain guns
VIT (体力[3] or 耐久力[4][8], Tairyoku[3] or Taikyūryoku?, Vitality) - Determines the number of hit points the player has.[citation needed]
I guess SEN is equivalent to perception.
No.22877

That's about what I'd expect. It doesn't sound like it'd allow for anything truly fun, but if it's allowing you to tweak values into retard-tier levels like Sanic-speed you could potentially do some other minmax sillyness. Maybe fulldex build for sniper SMGs or dungeon-tier traps. Something like that, anyways.

>Intelligence (INT):
Improves the effect and success rate of your skills.
Also improves the duration and recharge time of your gadgets.
Increases the effectiveness of your status attacks and ability to suppress enemies.
>Agility (AGI):
Increases movement speed.
Also increases reduction in damage received by a large amount.
Improves weapon handling and reload speed as well.
Lastly, it increases how fast the Bullet Circle shrinks.
>Dexterity (DEX):
Improves the effectiveness of gadgets and increases UFG damage.
Also increases your damage for critical hits and when hitting weak spots.
Increases Bullet Circle accuracy as well.
>Luck (LUK):
Increases item drop rate and the effect of memory chips found on dropped weapons.
Also increases your critical hit rate and provides a slight boost in your damage reduction rate.
Greatly increases the damage reduction rate for poison and blaze.

Shinon doesn't seem terribly impressed when Kirito tells her he's a STR/AGI hybrid, either. In Fatal Bullet, it's definitely not broken, but it's a damn good stat. So close. Turns out she was always just a crazy bitch. Now that the show is over, one of the reaction image factories of the season officially shuts down.

Crazy doesn't even get close. She's still the worst part of this anime also.

That had to be the best part of the show for me because Len was absolutely right. SAO, from what we get to see of its mechanics, was absolute dog shit.

I wonder you'll be able to sleep with the female cast in the inevitable next SAO game.

Pretty classy of a spinoff to shit on the original and portray its fans as crazy sadistic faggots.

It's not a problem with it's true. If anything I'm glad the series isn't just dickriding the shitty original.
>portray its fans as crazy sadistic faggots.
All the main characters are batshit crazy. Len is a fucking psychopath, her friend seems to be a bit fucked in the head too and both M and Pitou are acknowledged as being completely fucking nuts. The only ones that weren't entirely crazy were the dyke squad.
Actually, it's a bit refreshing to have a cast of nutjobs. No bullshit about power of friendship, and the edginess works because it's just a game and they're perfectly aware of it. Even M's rather flawed mental state isn't lingered on, the other characters just make occasional reaction faces about it. It was nice to have a group of crazies doing psychopath things without no one ever really giving a shit without being excessively edgy. Except for Pitou, that is; she was overdone.
