Comfy as fuck, but is overshadowed by Yuru Camp thanks to Nadeshiko and Aoi

I watched the first three episodes then dropped it since I realized it was shit. The transition from manga to anime completely ruined all sense of scale, comfy, and timing. Not only that, but it added nothing and only followed the manga blindly. I've got better things to do than watch a poorly done 1:1.

Don't know why you'd make a thread for a show that's going to die in less than 2 weeks, but whatever man.

That's quite sad. I love the manga. I was putting off starting the show for a while because I wanted to get into the right mood for it, but if what you say is true, I'm not sure I want to watch it all. What a fucking shame, it deserved the Made in Abyss treatment.

The anime is pretty good, but if you had read the manga beforehand (like me) you'll see how the anime didn't manage to replicate the tone and comfiness.

It just can't compare to the art in the Manga. Its nice to see it get some love though.

Its sorta like Made in Abyss, but MiA went the extra mile with the sound track thats really fitting so it gets some points.

[1] The artstyle is slightly different than the manga, and cases of characters being off-model or disproportioned are often.

[2] The color palette is also vastly different than the manga, at least HakuMiko tried to replicate its manga's color palette.

[3] The fight choreography (Reg vs Ozen) was all over the place.

[4] Some parts were cut, and some parts were dragged on forever.

Thanks for articulating the issues with Made in Abyss. The soundtrack was the main reason I liked the anime so much.

I didn't like this show and also didn't like MiA. Anime-only for both.

I think the best episode was with the bird that was going to eat them but then everything worked out and they were all friends again, but it had really good atmosphere up until that point. It felt really tense but then they blew it. Also the beetle episode made my skin crawl. Character design, background art, music are all well-polished but it just feels like there's no stakes in anything and nothing interesting ever happens.
