It's kind of baffling that you would need to say that muslims are innocent people too, but people (= americans, mostly) are way too sheltered and biased to understand that islamic terrorists not only represent a minority within Islam, but are also hated by the muslims who have no intention of bombing anything ever and are just happy believing in their religion. Almost like you can't apply a stereotype to everyone just because they share one common quality, wow.

But hey, let's not mention that America was born thanks to the many genocides Christians committed in the name of love and Jesus. Taking over countries? Burning innocent people? Never happened. The Bible only brought joy to the world, of course.

It's legit depressing to see how conceited people are. It's not like "we westerners" ever killed innocent people in the Middle-East or something… we're the good guys. Hourray for white people.

Those are the extremists. But we can talk about the moderates:

100% of the muslim population in my country think homosexual sexuality is wrong.

60% of those asked think it should be a puniashable criminal offense to be gay. 50% think Atheism should be illegal. 40% think that domestic violence (man hitting his wife) is acceptable and often necessary. Just under 30% think a rape victim should be forced to marry her rapist. 35% approve of women being in politics or high positions of power.

Those are the moderates. The people who, as you put it go to work and pray every day.

In their defense your coming up with stuff about Americans from hundreds of years ago. Which really sounds like desperate flailing to me.

What kind of utilitarian solutions do you propose? I completely agree that the world would be a better place without Islam (and various other religions), but how do you achieve that? Building walls doesn't make those people stop believing in their religion, and it doesn't save their children from having that religion imposed upon them. Nuking them, as /pol/ would no doubt love to do, doesn't work either. You'd be killing hundreds of millions of children to save thousands.

History suggests that the best way to reduce the religiousness of a population is to improve their standards of living, education, and access to different viewpoints. Maybe a carefully run propaganda campaign could speed things up too.

I'm genuinely interested in ideas which don't just boil down to "make it someone else's problem" or "kill everyone".
