They used to replace the entire LSB of the blue channel with a 1 bit image with your username and IP in it. But you could remove that by saving as jpeg (which will almost certainly destroy the LSB) or just setting the LSB to 1 or 0. The method displayed above is the only other one I've seen them use. Also previous Anon is not quite right, the new watermark is through the entire channel, not just the LSB. I think (although I've never tested this) it adds one to the pixel value, which on many pixels causes an overflow into the next bit, possibly several times. If you knew the font you could work out how the watermark is generated and make a thing to subtract it again. Or if you have the original you can subtract that to get the watermark, which is probably how they get the info out of the image to ban you.

You'd need several to avoid them being able to get a partial IP addr out of it. There's probably so few active accounts that even a partial IP would probably be enough to identify someone.

You could probably use this to mostly remove the watermark although it would take several examples and if any got resaved in a lossy format it would screw things up. TBH it's probably easier, faster and more interesting to work out how the watermark is generated. Then you can start screwing with them as well by putting in false IPs. Make them think the CIA is leaking their images or something…

If the watermarking is done by simply adding 1 to each pixel value, then that means the watermark itself is a 1bpp image and hence doesn't have any nasty anti-aliasing or alpha effects going on. That means it should be very easy to extract the glyphs corresponding to numbers 0-9, then it's just a matter of putting them in the right place on the image and reversing the watermarking process.

But I can't.

As far as I can tell I'm more or less of the same mind as you on all this shit. Only thing is I don't think "transitioning", as it is currently, would be a net positive for me. Make it a little less garbage and it might well push me over the edge.

I don't know. Are you just taking "trans" to exclusively mean "someone who has gone through sex reassignment surgery", even though that doesn't seem to be how most people use the term?
