The newest adaptation in the toaru series. After the shitshow that S3 turned out to be, it seems they decided to stop ruining the LN, and adapt the shenanigans of accelerator and last order. The show isn't really that good, but it has misaka clones in it and their misaka clone speech, along with more scenes of last order being cute, so it's bearable as long as they are there.

The scenes were accelerator is fighting has all of his usually edginess and trying to make him some brooding anti-hero, but that hasn't been a very big part of the show. It's mostly just the police going around and they find some criminal, while accelerator has fun with last order, then he goes and takes down the criminal. There will probably be some some of evil antagonist later on, but it's been okay so far. Good enough to watch if you time to.

The Railgun anime has actual characters, instead of a generic self-insert protagonist. The powers being based of scientific concepts is a lot more interesting than magic powers being based of religious concepts. Railgun focuses more on academy city and makes it feel like a real place. Index ruins academy city by having the stupid magic versus science theme.

Yeah, the "generic LN MC" of Index isn't that great. Some parts were kinda interesting, like him giving no fucks who he has to punch or the initial amnesia plot but most of the time he's just bland "your-face-here"-man with a bit of JUMP MC added in.
At least Index had some good side characters. Komoe-sensei was great, if I ever watch it again I'll do it just for her scenes, and so were Accelolicon and Loli Order. And the Railgun cast of course.
On the magic side Underage chainsmoker-kun and Katanaslut are pretty alright.

Animation is stiff and awkward in certain parts. Like when Yomikawa and her fellow AntiSkill run into the compound in episode 1, or when the DA goon injects the antibiotics into his neck in episode two. The art style ranges from surprisingly decent to Accelerator bean-pole tier. He actually looks Asian. LO is cute, as always. Estelle is looks great too. The pacing is already better then the manga. Scavenger is great in Railgun. Hope their proper introduction gets justice here. OP is edgy, ED is pretty good too. Shame the action scenes suck. Nowhere near Index I/II levels. Another disappointment in that regard. Read the books niggers.
