Are any of you guys knowledgeable in traditional elven folk music?
I'd really like to know more about that peculiar type of festival music that women sing that sounds something like "hai, ai, assassa! ha! ha!" or "hai, ai, assassa! saa-sa!" but I'm not sure what the proper designation for it is or how to find it.
You hear quips of it in all sorts of modern nip genres including denpa.

Okay, well, the reason I listen to idols is due to their ability to extract my inner tiger. Or because their story touches me and I want to support them.
I don't know what "online idol waifu wars" are supposed to be, unless you mean little tongue-in-cheek jokes we say to each other when we say something like "my oshimen is better than yours". Fighting can occur if someone calls a girl shit, though.
I legitimately do enjoy the music, but idols are more about the performance and stage presence anyway. When their true character shines through their actions to make people smile are my favorite moments.
So what exactly was the question? "Online idol waifu war purposes" doesn't make sense to me in many ways. I have a waifu and it definitely isn't a 3D idol. I don't know what kind of war we're supposed to be having either. I guess AKB does have it's popularity polls that have direct consequences on the next single or something, but I really don't like them in the first place, so I don't care about that.
I generally like the atmosphere of lives, with the tigering and everything. Watch this video.

A few reasons here. The immensity of the Idol phenomena seems to encourage a lot of creativity and a lot of polish. Artists are looking for ways to stand out from the rest, and sometimes this results in highly technical, eccentric, and/or sometimes over the top music and this is a big draw for me.
Maybe this is also present in other cultures, I am interested in exploring new things. But it's difficult to justify pulling my attention away from Idols when I've spent years listening to them and I've still only scratched the very surface.
Also there is the aspect of crowd interaction which I haven't seen anything like anywhere else. I haven't made it to Japan yet, but some of the artists that have visited my home have drawn by far the most energetic crowds I've ever been in. It's exhilarating.
And I get a little goofy sometimes and live vicariously through the idols. I don't doubt that what they do is a tremendous amount of work and it's full of difficulties. It maybe an act, but sometimes I feel like when they're performing they're in a state of flow and the cheerfulness and energy is contagious.

What are the vocals in Shibayan's 地獄の苦輪?
It doesn't sound Japanese to me, and there are no lyrics on the Touhou wiki which is conspicuous given that nearly everything from Shibayan with vocals has them.
