The school gate seems to be the result of Akefu Satoru's Stand, which causes harmful and deadly accidents at a distance. Tsurugi simply stood by and watched it happen, but didn't say or do anything, perhaps because he saw Akefu's stand in action and no one normal would understand. There's also been several other "accidents" happening around Tsurugi which seems to imply that Akefu's stand is following or active on Tsurugi for reasons unknown. Could be that he's protecting the Rokaka, could be that he's waiting for his chance to take it back from Joubin.

No, it was definitely Tsurugi. The one who got crushed was Mina, who bullied him at the river, and the panel after that are these. He did this, but the gates moved on their own for all to see, this wasn't prosopagnosia affecting just Mina.

There is a laundry list you could do to make JoJolion better, but the main one is this.
STOP GOING ALL OVER THE PLACE, ARAKI, KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS AND FOCUS
He tried to go for a continuous overall structure like SBR, but at the same time having the character-of-the-week nature of DiU. It doesn't bloody work, and you end up with blatantly inconsistent shit like >>944581 . He's probably starting to realize this by bringing back Ojiro, but then again, he chose fucking Ojiro, the very most inconsequential asshole of the early game.

JoJolion is a disaster.
SBR was the first JoJo arc I followed, I imagine this is also true for most people here, and it was slow, and it was obvious Araki changed his mind on how the story was going to go several times throughout the years, but it wasn't done terribly, and SBR actually ended up as my favorite part. I don't think at any point during SBR I felt like dropping it, it was fun from start to end.
But JoJolion has the problems SBR, except much worse. What the fuck is wrong with Araki? What's going on? Is this a blunder or is his time doing good manga over?

Have you apologised to Lucas yet?
>>944630
Your summary is pretty much bang on. After coming out of SBR and finally catching up on Jojolion you can see early on that he was trying to blend the two. It's a shame he didn't just commit fully to one plot or the other. Ironically the best story from part 8 has been the one totally removed from the plot. That being, Joshu and the Milano Man. That shit was classic part four and I wish Araki had committed totally to stories like that. Seeing the Higashikata family dealing with weird Stand of the week stuff with Jo2uke's plot occasionally getting involved would've been more fun than this seesaw of SBR/Stand-of-the-Week story. Although in the end I'm still enjoying it because it's still got interesting conflicts.

I am just happy it is over, the whole thing seemed like Araki was experimenting with new elements and lost control of the plot, the pacing is all over the place and good characters lose screen time in favor of the most boring MC this series ever had. At least Jolyne is easy to sympathize with being a mix of Jotaro and Joseph`s personality and the plot of Stone Ocean is simple and enjoyable until it isn`t.
Part 7 can`t come soon enough

Having finally gotten around to powering through part 4 of the anime, and actually enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would despite its glacial pacing (same issue with part 3 where the OVA had D'arby in one episode while the later anime drags it out to two), what are the chances of a part 5 adaptation? I was a little disappointed that they have only one variation of the ED but 3 of the OP. Least they didn't go with the obvious musical choice though.

Most people think that MiH destroyed the JoJo universe when in actually just reset it and migrated all the people that were alive when the ability was activated.
i thought anon was one of those people.

I think all of this "explanation how it works" is just an afterthought. Stand accelerates time all other effects are there for dramatic effect only. Its not like Araki toughed it out beyond "mass affects speed of time because relativity or something and gravity is involved". And it was clearly "one use only" power and it reset universe so there are absolutely no loose ends except squirrels, but it might just be a reference/joke . If anything it was a good way to get rid of all loose ends and redo things he wanted.
But on the plus side it was confirmed that Star Platinum is just super duper fast and not stopping time itself, as everyone suspected. But again, its also an afterthought.
>>946975
Yeah, but its not really clear if universe in part 7-8 is the same as the end of part 6, not to mention all the hopping in part 7. Hopping showed that there are a lot of universes. And all this "migration of souls" resulted in just "deja vu once in a while".

It was mostly just a joke at the expense of Part 6, but I feel the Part just drags on in the middle. Fitting that Jotaro's daughter gets a part that drags on, I know.
It doesn't help that Jolyne herself is the best character of the bunch, as a good chunk of the cast is okay, but nothing too great, characterwise.
I'll say the last 5 Stand Battles are great though, shame the anime will probably give them QUALITY considering Japan's general indifference to the Part. My favourite Part already got a top tier adaptation though, so I won't care too much.

Dunno, I liked when weather report and others turned into actual people.
>considering Japan's general indifference to the Part
Most people are indifferent towards it. It has some great stuff, but also dull and boring for the most part. Emporio screams more than Koichi, half of characters just appear and do nothing for a while, a lot of the stuff feels unnecessary. Like every fucking thing related to prison and prisoner habits. It would be a much better chapter if it was missing all the bad unnecessary parts.
Araki might be great and genius but sometimes he needs a plan and an editor. Part 6 anime adaptation would benefit the most from it. And just some random changes from the original would not hurt. I said that before but universe jumping in part 7 would be better if they jumped to universes different from the manga. It would be thematically appropriate. Hell, they can even fit live action scenes in it.
inb4 it they do it and I have to burn the studio to the ground.

So you're saying Part 6 would benefit from getting the two OVAs treatment Part 3 got, yeah?
Actually, that wouldn't be half bad, would also mean there'd basically be no QUALITY moments, unless DP decides to focus on that soccer anime instead while it's being made.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), Part 6 will get the full 39 episodes, probably have 2 OPs and I'm betting the alteration will be it going through every JoJo OP or something like that. Or maybe have a version of the opening bit of the first OP in colour, since all the Parts in it will have been animated.

Going all over the place and experimenting with ideas he might not end up caring for at all, while in the middle of the published series, is practically Araki's signature.

Pretty sure this is why Araki cut the multiple party member setup, there's too many characters to give them a real spot-light. After he switched to P.7/P.8 all the characters feel pretty relevant because the spotlight isn't shared between more than 2 or 3 at a time.

Why do I get the distinct impression that Bucciarati's gang going around investigating wacky incidents with Stand users as some kind of serial crime drama would have been a lot more interesting than the plot we actually got? Because if that were an anime I'd totally watch it.
As for Araki, I'm completely sure that he doesn't actually care for the entirety of the writing process. He enjoys coming up with setups and introductions, loves compelling conclusions to story arcs, but doesn't care much for the middle portions so just stumbles through them, and absolutely LOATHES coming up with a denoument so just ass-pulls some random bullshit that immediately solves the plot so he can move onto the conclusion.

The problem with that, is that Akefu is obviously a setup for Joseph Joestar. He's the right age (late 80's), offers the right cover (Head Doctor, works with his daughter Holly, has grandson Doctor Kira), and explains why Holly has been around to kick around without getting murdered by the stone men, and even goes so far as to explain her connection to the rest of the hospital - remember, she built the Rokaka chamber in the first place.
It's a reversal of Part 2, this time Joseph is working with the Stone People for the "Stone of Aja"/New Rokakaka, Urban Guerilla explicitly said they all wanted it because it'd something special for the rock men.
Tooru is the assassin stand guy obviously, he's gonna kick it in the next two issues.

It's not that hard to edit the subs if you know what has changed (Episode 24 or 25 was a special case though, since CR went in and edited the video itself, fucking cunts), and there are subgroups that exist only to provide the original unchanged names.

Probably the main villain.
There's other questions you missed -
*Why does Josefumi Kujo have the Joestar mark? We think Jousuke has the mark because of Kira, but it turns out Josefumi already had it previously. I'm willing to bet Joseph is his father too.
*Why did Josefumi return naked? And why was there a bite mark over the star mark?
I think it's because the flashback didn't actually cover everything, the main villain probably met Jousuke in-between the events with the stone men and the introduction.
