Only true Haruhifags know that what people call "S2" was actually just a re airing of S1 with additional episodes.

On that topic, recently a Haruhi reairing beat NJPW in ratings. Not to mention the Haruhi Only doujin event and the seiyuu coming back together to do a Haruhi song event, AND the author actually WORKING AGAIN on a Haruhi short story recently, there has been a lot of Haruhi lately.

Kadokawa is just pouring money into anime and lots of great shows have come out thanks to them. They don't deserve to die just because kemonofags are butthurt.

Kyoani on the other hand hasn't produced anything good since Nichijou. I won't celebrate people dying, especially not people in the anime industry, but I hope the studio stays dead after this and the talent finds work elsewhere.

People are falling for this hook, line and sinker. Classic case of insurance fraud on our hands here. KyoAni’s sales are shit and what better way is there to boost sales and interests by making national news, opening up fundraisers for normalcattle to donate their meager earnings to and then riding the wave while continuing to churn out shitty anime. Japs are ruthless too, they see their workers are replaceable cogs. They don’t mind if they have to bloody their hands for some yen

Animators are the lowest of the low too:

According to a 4chan thread, the first was at their "first office". Apparently the digital masters and stuff were stored at another place but the reason so many directors died was because that was their office that they planned the various animes and had meetings with the likes of Kadokawa and such.

Kyoani is finished, anon. Even before an official closure statement, it's best to just get thoughts of a comeback out of your head now. Staff is dead and material is lost. Free 3 is already canceled, it's just a matter of time until more. We haven't even seen the lawsuit phase yet, and you can bet everyone involved along with the families is going to get a nice payout. It'll probably bankrupt them. Maybe worst of all, the name is now associated with the largest tragedy to ever hit the anime industry. It's done.

At best, a new studio will be formed with scraps of old Kyoani talent, but Kyoani itself will never grace the silver screen again. Even if a new studio isn't formed however, these are talented people in an industry already lacking talent. Higher level staff typically aren't tied to a single studio anyway. They'll get picked up somewhere else.

How is 9/11 comparable? If anything the jumpers support my argument, since those people willingly chose to commit suicide just to escape the heat. How did these people not drop out of a 2nd story window to do the same?

Or is there something we're missing about the story? Were these people killed in the very initial fire, the "explosion" someone spoke about?

That was the nightclub in the northeastern USA where a bunch of people died simply because they couldnt cram through an open doorway right? This is the same effect. Imagine a highway merge in rush hour traffic. People are jerks to each other even if they could be friends or coworkers outside the car. Pile on the bonus of "if you dont merge in X seconds you die" and its no surprise people died from rushing too much.

Are you watching Fruit Basket? Yes its a remake but MC is charming and the boys are the typical shojo characters. It contrasts nicely to Hensuki although that is a more extreme title. In terms of shojo or josei titles I think Tonari no Kaibutsu was really good. Mostly because I self inserted as MC. Traps in shojo stories bother me more than in seinen. I get that some stuff TV will never air no matter what, uncensored ma*ko for example, but I dont see why an anime airing at 2am should strive for a PG-13 rating. ToLoveRu was rated R+ which should be the standard rating for anything airing during late night hours. I dont know off hand when MaidDragon aired.

If he was that smart and coated papers and such with gasoline how come he burned himself too?

I find it hard to believe because there was an explosion, explosions doesnt happen on open air, he must have gotten inside and spend about an hour there before gasoline started to evaporate. How did he get there and why nobody noticed it? Doesnt look like the building have all that much exits for him to hide in some storage area.

Unless you plan to start the fire on the same day, within hours, it wouldn't work. Gasoline evaporates very quickly - and an application like mopping would dry out really fast. Depending on if you're using gasoline from a gas pump or some other accelerant, at best you're going to blow yourself up thanks to the fumes being flammable more than the fluid. I work with gasoline and even a spill of half a gallon tends to go away in less than a few hours, and that's in a single puddle.

I guess stuff like this can happen because of how safe Japan is. If it was a country with high terror/crime rates then people would be one the watch for something like this. In Japan it seems so out of place that it takes a while to realize what is really going on. He probably just walked in like he belongs there.

Guy walks in with big cans of some sort.

>Hey, did you see that guy over there.

<Probably just some delivery guy. Or a repairman, you know how our boss always forgets to inform us.

>Yeah right. Oh well, looks like he knows where he's going. It's best to just let him do his work.

He probably poured the stuff in the entrance ways and other parts of the building first, then splashed it on some employees last before starting the fire. Maybe some even thought it was a prank at first. You know how Japan loves those "hidden camera" gags.

>"But wouldn't you smell the stench of gasoline?"

Again, the situation must have been so strange that it takes a moment for your sense to kick in. Imagine you are occupied by your work and then some fat nerd waddles up to you and dumps some liquid over the place. I'd be so surprised that it would take me a moment to even get angry.

I feel sorry for those people. Dying needlessly is bad enough but burning alive must be a horrible way to go.

Guess it's time for me to watch some of their classics. Was there any KyonAni show this season?

Executions usually take a long time before they're carried out. Japan's legal system is pretty fucked up a lot of the time (you can't tell me a >99% conviction rate is legitimate) so I expect a side effect is that it happens faster and with fewer appeals than courts in the West, but who knows.
