I would say you don't NEED to watch any other fates before this one. They show a flashback to Waver's servant fighting in the holy war from Fate/Zero. All you really need to know is that Iskandar and him were buddies, had their issues, worked best them and became proper master and servant. Waver idolized Iskander and decides to stop being a little bitch because of him. In the show when Waver gets dramatic and references a "he" or "him" he's talking about Iskandar. There you go. That's about all the prologue you need since Kayneth and his death is explained in the first episode.
Enjoy it, though know it is different from other fates since there are no servants (that I no of) and its more focused on the mages themselves.

But you technically don't need to, here. Case Files explains the things you need to know as they come up. More than that, Case Files explains things that F/SN won't explain, just as Tsukhime would, or Extra, or any of the other things. Hell, even Grand Order brings up its own shit from time to time. If you know shit from one thing, it gives you a bit of clairvoyance elsewhere, there's an internal logic that gets repeated.
The exception is rules. If you ever see the word "rule" used, as in "it is a rule that all Assassin-class servants are Hassan-i-Sabbah", or the word "strongest", as in "the Saber class is the strongest", then you can safely consider that to be bullshit. Most things are consistent; explicit rules, on the other hand, exist to be broken.

Its one of the best related Fate LNs I read in a long time especially after Apocrypha being shit in both LN and anime. Really expands more on the mages as a whole and how their society acts when a holy grail war is not happening. Recent episode was pretty good it mostly introduces you to Wavers students.
Lot of references in this episode mostly for FGO and Apocrypha if any of you actually care. However, the FGO references are not becasue they have to shill it certain characters who played roles in FGO are also part of the plot for Case Files.

Yes and she was literally to good of a person to become a mage so she ran away in turn Caules is forced to carry on the family tradition. Never meets Frankenstein here but uses electricity magic so thats cute.

No tension, no mystery aspect, nothing. This anime is nothing. And boring.
Go watch the Hercule Poirot TV series ffs. You'll get everything this anime would like to be, magic aside.

Fate is going crazy with the anime recently. In a couple of months we will get the Gacha story Babylonia that features Older Gilgamesh and his clay fuck toy. Then heavens feel will be finishing up then another movie is in the works for another FGO story about the round table. What I don’t get is how we are getting Babylonia before Camelot. Camelot is where a lot of people went oh shit a gacha can have a good story and saved FGO (because Nasu wrote it)

I think the reason Babylonia is coming out before Camelot is becasue Camelot made such a huge impact on the playerbase after the mediocre first half of FGO so in turn they feel like it deserves a movie. Camelot gave major character building to my most hated Fate character ever Mash only then after I liked her more becasue she wasnt "uggggu Senpai please you need to be a badass!!!" she still is but she is getting better on top of that FGO also made me hate Nero a lot more becasue like we all know early FGO was garbage. Although the best things in FGO is when Koha Ace gets involved.
After Heavens Feel 3 and Camelot I feel like the next big Fate project will be HA or forget HA and please make a full Prototype adaption

Prototype is so interesting you can see the similarities between it and Stay/Night but both are vastly different. For example Lancers master was a Sadistic version of Rin who deep down he actually liked becasue for some reason she reminded him of his teacher Scathach while in Stay/Night Lancer commented he liked Rin. Fast forward a couple of years its time to officially add Scathach to the universe and I have a feeling Nasu requested something when it came to her design. On top of that Arthur and Artoria are vastly different Arthur acts much more like Shirou in that he wants to defend the weak and save people that person being Ayaka.

I think the montage at the end is meant to show all the stuff Mash and Gudao went through up till Babylonia. While Cloverworks is not a bad studio I am not a fan of the "potato" look some servants get especially here for Mordred.
