Boku no Boredom has another movie coming out in December. Amazingly, it sounds like it's going to be even more milquetoast than the first one:

This sounds like Hori is making this movie look like the definitive ending in case whatever he ends the manga on years from now ends up being pure garbage. He'll be able to say "Acktually, this is how I REALLY wanted BnHA to end!" and effectively skip blame on the pretenses that it was editorial's fault or some shit. I could be wrong, but considering how Hori has gone on record to say how he thought Yakuza was forgettable despite sinking a full year into it I wouldn't be surprised if he was that skeevy.
Also there's like some villain arc going on but nobody cares because it sucks and it's going to end with Redestro dying or some equivalent waste of everyone's time.

Just so I'm understanding and remembering all of this correctly: Shigaraki is the grandson of All Might's mentor, which means Grandpa there is Nana's son who was given to a raised by another family. This makes the timeline very confusing and makes me wonder how old All Might is supposed to be.

Somehow I've fucked up all of this in my head. For a second, I thought Hori went full retard or possibly dropped a hint that Shiggy's whole memory of "I killed my family" was incorrect. This is somehow even worse than the way Hori wrote Endeavor and Todoroki's whole dramatic backstory. In the same chapter we learn that Shiggy's Dad was an abusive asshole because his Mother left him, we also learn that he knows why she did it, that she loved him, and that he also knows he's being too harsh on his son for no reason. Shiggy's edgy bullshit was bad enough already, but now that Hori is trying to give it substance, his whole character is only becoming worse.
I swear, at this rate we're going to find out that the original OfA and AfO had an abusive Father who beat them, and also All Might's Father beat him, and the reason Deku's quirk never manifested is because his Father beat him before abandoning his family, because that's the only form of character depth that Hori can write.
