I will simply chalk up the suicide obsession with the author's obsession with suicide. I suppose it isn't entirely surprising since I recall that he, she, it? was a tranny. Regardless, that's why I think I will skip this manga. The author's obsession with suffering, death and struggles that lead nowhere just isn't appealing once you've noticed it. It's in practically everything the author creates, from their stories to their random doodles to even their Frondle Scarlet H doujins. I enjoyed SSR, but knowing how it ended, regardless of how inevitable it may have been, gives me no desire to start another depression marathon from the same person.

I think it's what makes his work so appealing. I'm absolutely not suicidal at all and I'm actually pretty nicely adjusted outside of a bit of loneliness but his work somehow has that "psychological" touch that, alongside the minimalist aspect, can please people that simply are looking at life in all sorts of ways. tkmz in fact is the very definition of absurdism in their way of writing characters, motivations (or lack thereof), themes, dialogue, etc.

And sorry, but, for example, if I write only in English towards an English audience, it is reasonable to assume that I only know English. If he employs the same themes in his works, it suggests to me that he doesn't know much else. Sure, maybe I know more languages fluently, and merely wish to write in English, for English audiences. If he makes completely different things, that's great. But those themes in particular are pathetic and uninteresting compared to what else is out there, and often appears pretty pretentious as a result, not to mention the fools who enjoy pontificating about that nothingness, which is typical here and elsewhere of related subject. Funnily enough, not years ago, and in places where other subjects are enjoyed.
