A new chapter has been released! For those not so much in-the-know Tsukushi-san has been busy with doing everything but keeping up with his manga. He also hurt himself at some point but is now dedicated to getting two chapters out before the end of the year. What a nice Christmas present.
I will be dumping all 28 yet-to-be-translated pages from the new chapter. Here is a link for them. http://mangalifewin.takeshobo.co.jp/rensai/madeinabyss/ Once the translation is released I will dump it. Thank you for your patience and enjoy.

The Interference Units look a lot like Bondrewd. Given that their "mission" is to explore and collect information, which is pretty much Bone-dad's entire goal and purpose, the parallel thickens. One can guess he found some around where he put Idofront, and took them apart to make the Praying Hands, and is also where he got Sparagmos.
But man, you've gotta be pretty DUMB to drink water that seems okay, but that suspiciously no nearby animals are hanging out around. My first guess was that it was going to be irradiated, but microscopic parasites that aren't killed by boiling is what it seems to be.
Anyway, my guess is that this egg is somehow what everyone is going to use to transform into narehate. They need to shed their normal bodies made of flesh and become things made of value, or else die. Except because this is MiA it can't be that simple. More like each person has to be consumed by someone and then "reborn" as a narehate. Which, of course, they choose Veko as the surrogate because she's already the corps' bicycle; that's her (unwilling) contribution to the creation of the village. Let your soul be absorbed by the egg, shove the egg into Veko, come back out as a narehate. Rinse (off the egg) and repeat.
But the only one that Veko really loves is Iruyumi, so only she gets the Blessing and becomes fluffified into Faputa.

Remember that Velcro used to be a sex slave. If the mother of, what I assume to be future Faputa, had a similar smell, and Faputa was able to associate that smell with Velcro's past, then that implies that Faputa's mother was a sex slave or a prostitute as well.
This also explains why Faputa was thrown into the Abyss, or at least forced to live below the actual settlement: she was just the product of rape/prostitution. Nobody wanted her around. She was a byproduct.
Damn, this is making me wonder just how much stuff is lost in translation.

I doubt that. Seems like they lived a pretty good life before her infertility was diagnosed.
I'm basing this on what little we know of the tribals and the abyss but but I'd say her mother really was somebody of high standing.
>Mom is really important, so she has lots of children.
The abyss is a dangerous place, even the highest levels. At the same time food isn't scarce, you just need enough people to hunt the creatures. So I guess women are valued very highly and the most fertile women probably lead the best lifes but they have to birth many children, probably from multiple partners. For the same reason Polyandry (T/L Note: Reverse Harem) exists in some cultures.
>Longdong, you performed great in our latest hunt. You have the honor of passing you soulseed to the most fertile female!
That's also why Vueko has no value. Any partner would just "waste" his seed on her.

About that, I think it's much more simple. Both her and Irumyuui's mom simply smell like sex, because they fuck a lot. As in, the smell of two or more people and their fluids sexual energy mixed together. I doubt neither the tribals nor the expeditions have "perfumes" and "showers" very high on their priority list.

Still can't figure how they'd know that Irumyuui is infertile just by examining her, especially because she looks like she's still a child, and thus hasn't developed yet.
As a side-note, Veko stated that her growth is also stunted as a result of the abuse she received (she can't bear children either). How? Did that guy cut out her ovaries when she was still only mid-way through puberty??! Because if so why didn't he do it a year earlier and preserve prime DFC?

It's not important how they did it and I doubt it will ever be explained.
Could be that they test it with some concoction that uses local ingredients, could be that they use some "magic ritual" which actually involves an abyss artifact that can be used for medical examinations or it could be that they are just dumb tribals that made the wrong judgement out of superstition.

This isn't to say that filler is necessarily BAD (rarely it can be as good or even better than the source material), just that it's completely skippable. While I share the same fear as you, I would not give up hope yet. Maybe This is all just character introduction because Reg and Riko need a a guide in the lowest parts of the abyss. Remember that, even though they have survived this far, it was mostly blind luck, outside help, or reg-secret-power shenanigants that has kept them alive. Maybe Faputa will be the Nanachi of this and the coming layers or whatever.
>unwritten rule that Ultimate Beings must have dubstep theme songs.
Dubstep features many elements that work well with big fights and ultimate things. The entire premise of a "drop" in music works very well in dubstep, and can be coupled with big attacks or revelations. A fast beat will automatically raise the listener's heartbeat even if they are not that into the scene itself, and a meaty low bass punch can be used in conjunction with a real punch to make it feel even more brutal.
Overall there are few types of music that would fit epic battles or BBEG fights/reveals. Just imagine Jazz, hiphop, or a lowfi house song to underline something big. That just wouldn't work out.

Imuruuyi wished to be like her mother; "an important person who gives birth to plenty of babies", since she was thrown into abyss just because she wouldn't be able to do that.
And I guess the wishes have to be precise, wishing for a baby won't work if you don't wish it with functional organs. This must be the dark times of the village in the beginning, when Imuruuyi fine tuned her wishes before she was able to become "important person" that is, a functional ancap village where "all needs are statisfied and the adventure ends". A closed craddle. In the end, Imuruuyi became the ultimate mother.

I kinda wish Nanachi would have died somewhere along the ride. Not in some violent way though. Imagine what would have happened if some piece of ferro-concrete had landed on her, and impaled her guts. The only way to save Nanachi would have been going up and gathering healing herbs and mushrooms, or going deeper and seeing what you can find. Going up is out of the question, because Nanachi can't sense the curse while she is unconscious. So Reg and Riko go down the elevator with a wounded and bleeding Nanachi, and she passes away long before they arrive at ancap village, where they pay someone a little value to carve a tombstone for her. Nanachi did what she wanted to do, and a slow, honorable, and mostly painless death to reunite her with Mitty would be what she deserves.
Making the death stupid and random or avoidable could also drive the fact that the Abyss doesn't give a shit about you or your feelings. Mistakes = Death, no matter if you just killed a BBEG, or found a reason to stay alive.

We don't really know how long it took for Riko to heal or for the crew to prepare for their further descent. And going downhill is a lot easier and faster than going uphill, even without the curse.
Also: normal abyss raiders would spend a lot more time at each level to look for artifacts. These kids actually want to go deeper and deeper. They are not concerned with going up anytime soon. The reason why abyss raiders would spend so long down there is probably because they have to think about every meter they go down, and how they will get up again. And then they actually have to do it, which, as we have seen in the chapter where Riko had to carry Reg up a short distance, is extremely dangerous.

It's the nipple. Most artists treat the nipple like a separate element on top of the breast when it is deeply tied to defining its shape. Each nipple is handled differently too, and the physical properties of the breast are accentuated. I love this dude, I’ve been following him since maybe episode two or three of Franxx. I’m glad his analysis of episode 13 is back up too, I’ve been finishing it this afternoon.

Prushka’s looking cute, I’ll have to find the camrip of the second movie where this allegedly came from.

Are there anything out from the first movie yet?

Not that I’ve seen, but nor have I really looked. I’ve just heard some stuff about extended scenes, some new music and better pacing. About the “camrip” though, there is apparently no camrip and some faggot was just upscaling some images taken from a Japanese person’s twitter from the movie. Still cool to see Prushka though.

But is it actually "death", or just a transformation? Whistles do seem to have some kind of rough sentience as they only respond to their owner and stuff like that.
Random: Rewatching the anime for the third time. Found myself wondering: just where the Hell does Reg store those 40-meter long cables that his hands are attached to, inside his body?? Just one of them coiled up is nearly the size of his entire torso. One could make the argument that he's hollow inside and that's where the cables go, if he were a pure robot, but he's clearly not. He has human organs like a digestive and circulatory system, which must take up that space. I'm trying to figure out if some kind of exotic material like carbon fibers can be compressed to a tiny percentage of their normal length, so that the cables can be stored in a space of only a few inches in his lower arm, and the lengthened whenever needed. So it's less like a cable on a winch and more like an uncoiling slinky.
