How do you keep track of the anime you've read and the manga you've watched?

 No.853961

>Look at anime/manga

>Remember that I watched/read it

 No.853962

Notepad.exe

Why would I do that? It's not like my memory is so bad that I will accidentally watch or read the same thing again and again.

I have everything on μTorrent. After I finished watching, I delete. If you are watching so much garbage that you actually forget what you watched previously you should reconsider whether your taste is shit.

Though I did recently rewatch Azumanga Daioh and quite enjoyed newly experiencing parts I forgot

In my defense it has been like 5 years since I last watched it

Glad to know your kind stays on shitty public trackers.

What are you even on about. Just because I use a tracker does not automatically mean I don't seed. I think I speak for the majority of the users here that I have a considerably sized backlog, by the time I get around to finishing something it's usually over a 9-10 ratio.

I have never smoked a single anime in my life, sir. Don't lump me in with the likes of you.

 No.853996

I used to keep it all in a notebook, but then it got thrown away.

I use MAL and ignore everything about the site except the list itself as an off site backup now, in conjunction with my library notes.

I use MAL just for the list

Anon, you're supposed to rewatch things you enjoy. There are some people who don't?

Memory and my soon to be filled external HDD.

A text file. It helps me remember when I watched things too because I can see that I watched X show around Y season.

 No.854033

Just a piece of paper and marking off whatever I watched on the charts I have saved.

 No.854036

I use MAL for animu and mangadex for manga.

My anime indexer on a government hosted site run by the FBI.

 No.854164

I've used MAL for a long time. It works and I don't see much reason to switch now.

 No.854166

I stream anime, so the site I use tracks it. When I swapped sites, I just recreated my list.

I don't. I save a favorites tab of where I left off/store anime I've watched in a separate "watched" folder and come back to it when I feel like it/notice it while scrolling.

I'll be honest. I do the same thing with NovelUpdate since you can make custom lists for your LNs/WNs.

With the exception of walking in on someone else watching an episode/movie, I have a pretty strict policy of never rewatching anime because I don't have time for that. I do, however, keep good series in archive in case the mood ever strikes me to do so.

 No.854178

I used to keep a Document on my computer for years. Then the computer crashed one day and I lost all my entire anime and cartoon history. I also used to list them on how much I liked them or if I didn't like them and the harder to find ones I would put which website I found them on (this was years ago back before anime was mainstream now)

Since that crash (which was YEARS worth of shows) I've slowly stopped watching anime every season and honestly only watch 1-3 shows a year now. I've also stopped tracking my anime history since about 2010 or so.

The thing that really sucks is that I have been having this dream and daydream about this anime opening for the past week. I know I saw the anime but can't figure out what it was called and it is on the tip of my brain. I'd really like to hear the song again. If I had my list I could narrow it down a bit more since my mind would go "Eureka!" if I could read the title in front of me.

Maybe you could pinpoint it by remembering what the anime was about, how the cast looked like, etc.

 No.854205

You could be super autistic and use Excel.

One collum for name, one for sauce/subs, one for the number of episodes or length and one for episoded watched.

I have Emby set up as a media server for my apartment, so I just put all my anime on there and let it track for me. As for manga, if I have a physical copy, it's been read before it goes on my bookshelves; for online/downloaded manga, I use data backups from my reader app and a bunch of JS scripts to build a list of what I've read and when.

Free Manga Downloader to auto-dl new chapters and mangaupdates to keep track of stuff that is only on madokami and what I've read in case the FMD favorites corrupt or fuck up in any way.

Pretty much no time wasted with searching for what hot garbage has released daily.

 No.854371

Notepad categorized by year and seasons, color coded if I liked it or not. Numbered the latest episode, special or if movie was seen. I think I can remember all the good and bad anime I've watched. It's the mediocre ones I forget quite often. Nearly never dropped anything I've picked up. If I've dropped it, it's because I'm keeping up with the daily anime coming out that it gets lost in the rotation.
