I watched the first episode and I couldn't follow the logic of the mystery at all. I don't see how the mouse Tsukumogami was even relevant to the story at all. I have been seriously trying to rack my brain for how the mouse fits in to it and it doesn't make any sense. The whole separation of the spirits and the people felt really weird too. Made the show feel disjointed. Wasn't too much here to keep me interested so I doubt I'll watch anymore.

From what I gathered it was something like

>Tsukumogami don't tend to run away from owners and owners typically don't ditch them unless they decide they don't need them anymore

>thus the runaway story was suspect of being made up from the start

>ditching/losing a family heirloom is symbolic and probably was considered a bad omen for the marriage

>from the gossip and the samurai saying so, MC knew that the samurai and the girl weren't particularly interested in getting married because they both liked other people

>the shit with the samurai's brother was explained in the episode

>the bat recognized the person who had the tsukumogami as someone who showed up with samurai's brother

<so the samurai's brother was trying to sabotage the marriage by having someone steal the heirloom, but the samurai, not wanting the marriage, let him have it and made up a story about losing it

and then out of I don't know where

>turns out the samurai and the girl were both anonymously(?) mailing each other and the person they were in love with were each other
