I think the castle atmosphere is similar in the sense that it's always at night and surrounded by lava. I like color arts in this manga. They looks pretty gorgeous and has fine amount of details.

Yeah the whole "quest to saving the princess" act is the demon king to train up a powerful human hero by dropping clues and rumours to powerful artifacts (which are all made in the demon castle) scattered around the world. Also consider that the former demon king isn't dead but very much alive and grouchy.

I like this manga a lot. For a ten pages gag manga, it does a good job keeping me occupied.
For the characters, princess is great in both design and personality. Design wise, she looks like a kid but some changes of cloth make her looks more mature and even pretty lewd in a few future chapters . Being cute and naughty girl that capable to commits over the top atrocities makes her even better.
It's also worth to mention that she is not a one-note character. Her relationship with demons does develop over time and she can be very sweet to them in some chapters. Other characters were not very interesting at first until their interactions with princess grew on me. In addition, extra info pages help establishing other characters a lot.
It's quite impressive that the author can keep a single premise of "seeking for the peaceful sleep" extensive with small things here and there. It's still going well through 7 volumes and 100+ chapters. I wish scanlator working on this more though.

I really like the one more recent chapter where they try to give her work and her trauma as a princess kicks in forcing her to complete it all in a single day. Her outfit was especially nice in that chapter.
This would make a great short, with each chapter being a 5-7 minute episode and using the extra time for filler content/anime-specific additions (or making it "full-length" episodes with each episode being 3-4 chapters). I'm amazed it hasn't since there's as many chapters as there are.
