A lot of well-off young women used to get sent to convents so they wouldn't bang every guy in town that could scale the wall to their window, so it's not entirely absurd to say that pretty 'nuns' (though moreso just women in habits) could exist. Any nuns you see outside of a convent on any sort of semi-regular basis are women that have devoted themselves to the faith though, so it's fairly different situation.

These days telling women to consider preserving their dignity would ba a violation of their human rights and would land you in jail for hate speech, so you'd be damned to see anyone ever putting their daughters in a convent in modern times.
