It's supposed to be Jobin, but I feel that he doesn't have the wood for that. I mean, Jobin is a good character and I like his stand and battlecry but he doesn't look like a part 8 villain if anything more lika a rival

Part 8 is so fucking boring, I just want it to end. I was reading it because I liked the girls in it but they don't have too much screen time so I basically dropped it. Think I'll read through all of it super fast when it's finally over and hope part 9 is good.

That's why I personally want an anime adaptation. I'm banking on the hope that the transition from manga to anime could improve it; at the very least the fights will be crazy enough that seeing them in (semi-)motion could be great.

It would make for a better story if he got fused unwillingly in my opinion, reluctantly putting his last hopes in Josuke to protect and cure Tsurugi. Could there even be more villains behind the scenes, other than Kaato?

I don't know what it is about Araki's later art, but I can't tell what is happening in any panel of black and white jojo. I'm doomed to forever be behind since I only ever read jojo's colored adventure

get ready OP, Jojolion is boring trash but steel ball run is the best jojo has ever been. starts slow but you are in for the best shounen manga ever written.

Part VI has some great stands, fun supporting characters in the form of Ermes and Foo Fighters, and a villain who is fucking weird enough to be memorable without just being Dio again but it's just kind of Dio again, only weirder than last time...

Where it drops the ball is in pacing. We're told Jotaro is dying and there's this looming ticking clock that they need to figure everything out and save the day, escape prison, and so on.. but then we just kind of spend what feels like years dicking around. Then the snail thing happens.. and then the final fight is top tier.

Pucci is the best villain, not really in the narrative sense (Valentine is definitely better), but in terms of raw power and scheming.

Also it's more because the designs for most characters and Stands are rather forgettable, save for MCs and main villain. The only baddies I really liked were Dio's three illegitimate sons, they really added something neat to the story.

Battle Tendency is still the best JoJo part. Followed by Steel Ball Run.

Pucci is the worst villain in both senses because he is nothing without his abusively powerful plot armor. He's just "I win without doing anything interesting, I just touch you and you're done, also of course I can put new powers out of my ass and escape the much-hyped Heavy Weather without breaking a sweat". All his backstory is completely wasted on being a villain who's offered victory on a silver platter.

Why do you use this word? Only those willing to die for DIO can succeed while serving him, Pucci is just like N'Doul and Vanilla Ice. It makes sense that he could murder all of the Joestars, he put all his faith into DIO more than anyone else did despite how ridiculous the challenges he was tasked with. Also, White Snake is a very powerful Stand in and of itself, but it can't really do anything but the Memory/Stand disc shit.

Araki should have just murdered Old Tom this chapter. No one would have batted an eye at the idea of Mamezuku strangling the little shit to death right then and there, but no, we had to have an extended of a likable character being murdered in possibly the most brutal scene in a jojo series to date.

If memory doesn't fails me, it has to do with the superstition the fist born male was always prey of "demons" and "evil spirits" (birth rates in the distant past were terrible and sometimes only 2 of 7 children survived diseases and other natural causes). To hide the boy from such enemies, they were disguised and raised as girls until certain age when the danger was over.

That does make sense. Males will inherit and pass on power. Females don't and the Virgin Queen is a good example of this. Queen Elizabeth I died without a king as she was the only heir at the time and whoever she chose would get elevated to the highest position in the land and push her underneath him. It got solved after she died when Mary I and Philip were given the throne, but the Tudor line still ended with her.

Children wore white dresses, often with a diaper under it largely for the convenience it offered. You can bleach the white and the dress makes accessing a diaper easier. It's also a universal hand me down. You also have to remember that gender wasn't really a concept like it is now, kids were generally considered asexual so a dress didn't even matter. Women are insane and like dressing their kids up like dolls. Male children had worn dresses at least as far back as the enlightenment and probably earlier. I don't know about the Japanese though, I think that may be some unrelated crazy shit.
