Colds in ultra humid environments like Japan are killer. You got mold and mildew everywhere and the humid temperatures are deep and bone chilling. Colds in dry places are a walk in the park in comparison. Mold and mildew is almost non existent. The air is pleasingly crisp and dries out your respiratory track so its mostly a dry cough instead of that deep bronchial gurgle. Not much nasal drip and phlegm so you don't need a lot of tissues.
