The feeling I'm getting from most people in this thread is they don't hate him because he was a tranny, they feel sorry for him because he suffered the fate most trannies do.

I also have an internet friend who decided he was trans 2 years ago or so, and one day i was talking to him about this kind of stuff and what he told me was that not transitioning would make these suicidal people go off the deep end even faster than they were already going.

I don't really agree with him because the majority of transitions I see online end poorly. The person's life and mental health don't improve, and they usually get even worse. What should be happening with these people is the same hting that happens with people who believe they're an animal, or furniture, or who believe they're a historical figure, or famous actor, or extremely rich, or an alien or some other fantastical entity: they should get mental health to help them accept they are not what they believe they are and help them live their lives as what they really are. This culture of embracing men who think they're women and vice versa is insane to me, it's not doing these people any good.

Unfortunately it's too late for your friend but I really hope we reach a turning point where people realize what's going on and that these people don't need hormones to get better, they need support, therapy, and treatment of underlying mental illnesses.

I'm not trying to push either side of the narrative or playing armchair psychologist but there's a few very simple facts that you always have to consider.

Transexuals are usually dissatisfied with themselves. I guess you don't have to hate yourself but wanting to change your body to that degree. Societies opinon of you will change completely. Depending on which social group you as, they'll either celebrate you like a saint or demonize you.

Lastly and I think this is the most important factor: Hormones. Others have already mentioned it above but just look at any examples you might see in real life. Look at girls during their period, pregnancy or any person with some sort of hormone imbalance. Think about how much their modd and behaviour changes. Now consider that they are willingly swalling amounts of hormones, massive enough to change their body. That just can't be healthy for you mind.

Also, this is just my personal opinion but I don't think getting a "cut" is ever a good idea. Do with the rest of you body whatever you want but don't rob yourself of such a basic thing as your sexual organs. The replacement is nothing but a cheap mocker that doesn't work or look right and I've never heard about anybody who is wholeheartedly happy about their decision afterwards.

The reality is both men and women start exactly the same, a "neutral" form and then starting from 4 weeks or so the cells that will form the genitals will start to differentiate, based on signals given by whatever chromosomes the person has (and we could get into a lot of detail on how these signals activate or deactivate things). At around 7 weeks the gonads are already different in both sexes.

I'm not an expert on this stuff but I studied embryology for 2 years and have Keith Moore's embryology book with me right now for reference.
