If you look at it as a cycle of rebirth it's not so bad. The Earth will heal and they will meet again in the next life.

"5 centimeters" was so much better that it isn't even funny. Aside from supreme music and art it also had an actual competent story to tell, in comparison to that mess in Kiminonawa. It hurts me deeply every time someone calls Kiminonawa a good movie. Another proof of the industry's decline, i guess.

I always thought it was nice and dandy but overrated. Koe no Katachi was from the same year and I liked it much more even if it was shit compared to the manga.

I think the problem is just that Shinkai is running out of ideas and he has to try out crazy shit in new projects.

I was hoping someone would post this. Thanks for not disappointing me anon.

Man I read a shit ton of romance manga despite that, I can't think of single romance that I liked best. Every single one was filled with uanessacry filler bullshit to stretch out the story. It so damn obvious the two characters belong together. When they finally hook up, I am sick of both them.

This one recently got me crying though. When Platinum started playing and they hugged just fucked up my feels.

I really liked 5centimeters too. But you my favorite of his still Voices of Distant Star. He grew up and she didn't (he started seeing other girls). And since she will never got to grow up, she'll never move on. It's depressed me like nothing else. In the end, he swears he will wait for her, but I think he will. And she'll be forever young girl in love.
