I thought it was alright for the most. It got dumpsterfire-level edgy on the part with the major's son killing women, but much worse is the cast. The only character types are the literal fag, the average anime Joe and the fujobait fag, and there's a solitary loli somewhere in the far background. Also, while the edge wasn't too overbearing now since it was limited to that one scene, it will probably get worse.

It seemed at first like it might have some Bebop-esque traits but that quickly proved to not be the case.

The first episode was almost a little engaging and half-decent but only because it was the first episode and they tried their best to captivate the audience with what they could. It is plain and clear to see that this will turn into a steamy pile of shit by episode two. That and what >>780616 said make me regret even wasting my time on the first episode.

I was a bit confused about some of the characters (pardon the pun). Aside from the police, was it two or three different groups of assassins tied up in the detective affair? I couldn't tell

First episode was iffy but I liked the second one. It had a livelier pace and not as much ridiculous stupidity like the balloon popping.

I do have a soft spot for this idea of an extensive criminal underworld full of colorful characters. This show doesn't seem to take itself too seriously and there's just the right amount of edge. They also did a good job of introducing a lot of unrelated characters and their personal motivations.

I would enjoy this show so much more without the crossdresser. I'm not even angry, I'm just disappointed. His character could have worked just as well without dressing up like a schoolgirl. If they needed an assassin that looks like a girl, why not just make it a fucking girl? Hell, if you have to hit that trap demographic so badly, why not have him just be willing to dress up as a girl to get to his targets, rather than just enjoying the breeze on his thigh hair? It shows us that he's willing to do whatever's necessary to save his sister, as opposed to his current incarnation, which just shows us that he's a faggot.

I was also pretty disappointed by the Ivanov fight, if you can call it that.

It would have been tolerable if they'd foreshadowed it at all as opposed to using it to show off how much the writers know about obscure weaponry. Imagine if it was written in the 16th century.

I don't hate it enough to drop it just yet, although if it keeps up this pace of telling us absolutely nothing I'm unlikely to reach the end. It's like if Durarara started killing off characters before we heard more than three lines out of them.

As far as I know, there are only 3 shows this season that contain (or will contain) a trap. Feel free to correct me if my information is incomplete.

- Lin, who is the only one both in a leading role and crossdressed the majority of the time he's on-screen.

- Ryuuichi in Gakuen Babysitters, who only went trap mode sporadically in the manga for damage control purposes.

- Midare Toushirou in Touken Ranbu Hanamaru, where he's a pretty minor character and among a huge cast. Jiroutachi sort of counts, but his more feminine looking battle garb that actually makes him look like a decent trap hasn't even been featured in season 1 or in this season (so far).

3 shows out of the 50+ that are airing this season is hardly "every fucking thing". The only show in recent memory that had too many traps for no reason is Himegoto, and that aired 3 and a half years ago with episodes that only lasted 5 minutes each.

If your problem really is with shows getting "gayed up", the big offender for that this season is Sanrio Danshi. It doesn't even have any proper traps, just a frivolous soyboy, a tsundere soyboy, and three plain looking dudes. Despite the lack of traps, even the first episode alone rivals Free! in terms of gayness. (At least they had the human decency to not make it as gay as Jojo.)

It's about the trend. It's becoming disgusting that Studios, desperately for money, are baiting broader audiences and therefore making a mess of a show. Putting Traps, and Fujobaits became a standard now, because they know their core audience is idiot and tolerates it, because their audience either consume what they make or nothing.

I'm fed up with that myself, and decided to just ignore shows that do that from now one. Hence this show.

This show is enjoyably stupid and I think it knows it. This 4 episode arc was a lot of fun. I hope it can keep up now that the entire ball of character motivations has been unraveled already.

This. Its a shame people are scared off by the crossdresser, but this show is quite a bit of fun with its own quirky style to things. A real mish-mash of different ideas. I have no idea what they will do going forward in future arcs, but lets hope they can keep it entertaining.
