I pray that anyone who thinks this is brutally raped to death by niggers.
That was probably the best possible opener a show like this could do. The directing was great, there was a nice bit of scenery porn, the large cast was decent and given just enough time to shine without spending too much time on anyone in particular or bogging things down with too much backstory, too quickly, and the overall tone and atmosphere was conveyed incredibly well. I particularly liked the closeup detailed shots of the MC eyes, especially the one near the end where rain was reflected in them. She's incredibly pretty.
Fantastically good start. Enough so that I'm nearly convinced to run off right this second to read the manga.

Manager is a great guy. Autist-chan is cute and nuanced, and all the supporting cast have their place (except the lovestruck faggot who needs to leave.) Hell, it's even avoiding the common shoujo pitfall of stretching out romantic tension for 10 eons by putting it all out on the table right here and now. Manager blew that shit off like a smooth operator though, so here's hoping we don't go back to status quo immediately next episode.

Tachibana strikes me as being really immature in her behavior though. She is childish in that way that she demands that she gets what she wants regardless of anything or anyone else. And she is childish in the way that she doesn't even have reasons for her "love." She just sort of decided that she loves him and that's that, which makes it seem more like a passing infatuation. That's my take on her so far anyway, judging by the show alone.

When I first picked up this anime, I expected it to be depressing. Now I actually find it to be the comfiest show of the season. The characters have their problems, but there's also warmth and hope. The visuals are also beautiful, and all the girls are cute. I want them all to be happy.

>comfiest
It is incredibly comfy, yes. But let's not upset the reigning champions while they're getting ready for their next camping trip.
Another reason why it can't be the comfiest is because it is draped in a mist of melancholy and has a bittersweetness about each of the characters and their imperfections. Tencho's monologues, in particular, remind me of
>Mono no aware (物の哀れ), literally "the pathos of things", and also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence (無常 mujō), or transience of things, and both a transient gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life.
All of this is further evidenced by how much weight is held by rain in the series. It's also a big reason why I'm deeply fond of it.

I find the 無常 makes it all the comfier for me. It gives me the same feels Shoujo Shuumatsu did last season. The kyampu's are comfy like hot coco, and Ameagari is comfy like hot coffee.

It's like you have your shit together but you never know when you might completely fall apart. That's what this show is like to me. I haven't read the manga and I don't know what to expect, but if there is ample room for it to take a turn towards the abyss and leave me crying in the fatal position.
Or it could just go alright and stay comfy and maintain the wonderful sense of humor that is sprinkled in each episode!

I'm in love too.
This is easily my AOTS. I love it to bits. I thought this episode (9) was particularly great too. The characters are layered and nuanced, there isn't stupid misunderstandings or relationship drama and we get to see into the lives of two very different people and how they connect with each other. Also, the OP makes me smile every time.

I expected the tension this episode. Good to see it's following a sensible plot. I forgot about the hamster until now, nice to see him too. Plus Chihiro and Tencho's hang out time was really nice. Kinda showing what can happen when you take that leap and showing that tachibana is kinda getting in her own way for things but she could become just as happy as he is.

Oh god, I gave in and caught up on the last week's episode from HS because I figured I'd like to see the finale this week on time with /a/ instead of waiting a week and a day for damedesuyo. I recognized it as a terrible mistake within the first ten minutes.
Skipping past the shit CR translations, the lack of typesetting is painfully obvious in a show that often involves a piece of poetry or an open book popping up on screen.
Here's some screens from two weeks ago.

That's because they are true best friends. The kind that can not talk to eachother for years and still be themselves and open with eachother the moment they meet.

The ending feels very typical for shojo stories, even though I have no clear idea what "typical" should be. They will probably never start seeing each other, not like it matters though. Akira is a great MC that does really well with very few lines. If this ever gets season 2 I would be very pleased.

Read more Shoujo manga. It usually ends with a confession or a kiss or something and "What are you going to do with the rest of your life?"
