It is was not that great to be honest. I picked it up because the cover reminded me of the manga 'Arigatou' and I wanted some suffering. It is quite similar to that 'jobless siblings' manga.

Robot x Laserbeam feels like it is headed towards cancelation. The sudden time skip this early in the story with no real resolution to his club membership, the sudden introduction of radically different characters, the entire tone turning towards comedy.
If this tournament doesn't raise it's ranking it will likely be canceled very soon.
We never learn is typical haremshit and without even ecchi to get me invested in the story. The girls aren't particularly interesting. The only thing it has going for it is the art which, frankly speaking, would suit a lolicon manga much better. Soft fluffy looking girls.
Basically everything in Jump and Square.

True love. Shoujo manga about a brother that wants to bone his little sister and a sister that wants to get boned by her brother. Kinda similar to Koi Kaze, but with a smaller age gap, less drama and the girl as the point of view.

Manga read recently:
Online, I've caught up with Saiki Kuso, Trinity Seven (and Levi's side stories), and just started re-reading Aiura. Also, just re-watched Aiura the anime last night. Nice way to relax for 48 minutes or so.
Hardcopy though, I've picked up a few series on a whim and blew through them pretty quick-To Heart and Gakuen Polizi to name a few. Other series I've been collecting have been Interviews With Monster Girls, as Vol.5 has the most kawaii zashiki warashi since Hozuki no Reititsu. Plus, I've gotten into Species Domain, which will probably get an anime series if it continues, and Shoulder A Coffin Kuro.
If Satoko Kiyuduki can finish this series before I die, I will go out happily. I need this, since she finally finished GA, something I was hoping would go on forever.

Speaking of that guy, the raws of the final chapter of Helck were released and it's finally fucking over, and boy what a shitfest the whole final arc was, enough to make the whole manga not reading anymore. You can tell that the mangaka had enough of the whole shit, so he just tried to draw the final fight out in Naruto fashion where new villains are constantly introduced to be in charge of existing villains, villains constantly refusing to die, plot beats being repeated ad fucking nauseam (p-please don't go mad Helck), much of the stuff built-up has been disregarded completely, and fights being one giant endurance contest and imtheonestandingbehindyou.jpg
It was fun when it was a gag manga, it got actually kind of good when it ripped off Golden Age it got serious, the ensuing adventuring was some fun, but the whole last war was one big uninteresting slog. Do not waste your time on this.

Nail on the head. Helck's problem was endless escalation that made it impossible to give a fuck, because 1) Helck would always win, and 2) The villain wouldn't actually be dead 3) There was always something worse waiting for Helck afterwards, which he would beat anyways. They could have ended with the Kingblob being revealed and defeated and that would have still been pushing it, but at least we would have still been remotely invested.

Many internets to you, /a/non-kun. I did not know this existed before your post, and has me very intrigued. I've been playing this since I was big enough to see the tops of the tables, so I'm going to have to dig deep to find this.
I did research awhile back, and it seems pinball isn't big at all in Japan. You're more likely to find pinball in Osaka rather than Tokyo. I'd love to see the games they have there.
I like the looks of the tables in the art, very similar to 70s Bally/Midway and early 80s Williams tops.tl;dr, gomen nasai.

Just read Kumika no Mikaku, it's a SoL about an off-worlder (alien) girl working at Earth and her first experiences with food.
From the feeling it reminds me a bit about Dungeon Meshi, and I really love how the author makes use of the unique features of each off-worlder, and uses many different off-worlder species in the backgrounds.
The manga also has many good comedy moments, and there are some hints that a romance will develop.
Overall it's a top manga, and I would recommend it to every SoL&comedy fan.

A local comic book store is having a retirement sale so I went to see if there was anything to buy. Every time I've ever gone in that store, for at least the past 5 years pic related has been in a glass case next to the window for 4 dollars sandwiched between two old expensive Punisher issues. I never had the balls to buy it from the sweet old couple that runs the store and I guess no one else did up to that point so I figured I might as well buy it now since they're closing. He didn't even know it was in the case.
Never heard of it outside of seeing this issue, I like the art style and the alien invaders use biotech which I'm a huge fan of generally. Plus it looks like it has the makings of a nice ecchi harem comedy adventure and it has tiddies. Definitely going to read some more of it online and maybe buy more issues/collected volumes.

I'd read Monster and 20th Century Boys years ago, and I recently got into Billy Bat by the same author of the previous two. It's pretty good, it jumps around from a ton of seemingly unrelated characters all inevitably connected by the strands of fate and an (many different?) omniscient cartoon bat(s?) that manifests itself to a gifted few. It predicts, or plots, the future involving postwar japanese labor movements, the kennedy assassination, jesuit priests and Iga ninja in 16th century japan, and even the miracles of Christ. I'm about a third of the way through the 160-odd chapters and it's pretty dang good so far. Definitely reminds me of 20th Century Boys, Urasawa Naoki has a recognizable style

No.767245

It's not leftist as it doesn't really talk economics. It bases much of the story events around what I'd call a baby boomer's understanding of history, where everything taught in 8th grade social studies is abject truth alongside a good commonly-held conspiracy theory. Discrimination against japanese in san francisco in the '20s is bad also Lee H Oswald was a patsy for the Kennedy conspiracy. Southerners in the '60s lynch blacks for no darn good reason and MLK is a prophet also they faked the moon landing. It's got a liberal slant to it for sure, but more like the '90s style disguised equalism than the current anti-white malice exhibited by the modern minority democrats, DSAs, and worse.
At any rate, I still like the manga even if blatant falsehood rears its head for a chapter or two. It's the same deal with Monster where the Turks in Germany were all kind, misunderstood people just trying to make it
