It could be. Alt-chans are remarkably unstable as of late, with boards popping in and out of existence and users migrating from one board to another every other week. Peopple becoming increasingly frustrated with how they're run etc. It's just a question of self-promotion and being the ready-made alternative in peoples minds when and if they collapse.
