FIRST THERE WAS DEAD HEAT, THEN THERE WAS…

Dead Heat Riders! Here's the drive image if you wanna check it out. Once again it IS Linux based however this time the graphics card you'll need is ATI not Nvidia. It's uncracked as of now however it appears the process to get this running is similar to the other 2 linux games, I'll explain what somebody else (presumably the cracker) has written about this further down.

As this image stands right now it solely exists for people with doomed HDDs to restore their machines in working order, it is decrypted but also self encrypting. That being said there are a few tidbits that may be of interest to people who want to crack this game

>Regarding the dongle

If your old dongle shit the bed though, it's pretty trivial to make a new one from what I've seen... basically this one IS actually a flash drive (lolwtf):

1. Get a cheap ass usb flash drive from Amazon.
2. Find its flash utility on flashboot.ru
3. Set VID to 0B9A and PID to 0C10
4. Set your serial to something like "27062101XXXX"

Unlike actual dongles, the game itself doesn't do anything besides call the libusb shit to get the descriptor and read the serial... like that's literally all it does.

>Regarding hardware specifications

: CPU: Core i3 Ivy Bridge Socket 1155 G2120 @ 3.10GHz
Motherboard: Supermicro C7B75_OC012 (AMI BIOS)
RAM: 4GB DDR3 @ 800MHz
SSD: Kingston SV200S37A/64G - 64GB (This was for Dead Heat Riders and may be different depending on space-related needs).
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5

The dongle is different depending on game/region - sometimes the HASP HL Max, sometimes a Toshiba/Phison powered flash drive (RUDI04GBN 270621 - White), sometimes both.

>Regarding actually running the game

On an unrelated note, the game is working fully with a modified version of Dead Heat's patch in addition to some stuff to make it easier to run everywhere (I made a new audio library that leverages pulse to get rid of the issue with all ES1/3 games needing 6 channel dedicated ALSA).

The only thing not working at the moment are the pictures above the rival's heads because... maybe a shader thing with ATI, not sure, only have an NVIDIA so I can't really test that theory.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

Music ripped from the drive image

 No.295>>305

Gameplay wise, from the trailer it looks no different from regular dead heat. the only differences there are is different music, bikes instead of cars and the nitrous is moved to the right of the hud. no new tracks or anything

And we got our Riders OST. Awesome work!

There was an anon wanting said music a couple months ago… Here's hoping that he's lurking the board.

To be fair the cabinet would have been significantly different leading to a different experience but otherwise yes it looks like a lazy rehash

I did it right after I got the dump.

Reuploading games from sows is fine, but uploading letsplays on youtube is not. Yes, I'm talking about you, Harry99710. Restrain from this or you won't get maxtune4.

Who are you?

 No.383>>384

How exactly is Uploading letsplays to YouTube not fine? I'm not the only channel that does this ya know

 No.384>>385 >>386

>>383

It attracts unnecessary attention. It's fine for that shitty games but certainly would be not fine for wmmt4. But thanks anyway, I didn't think that would go anywhere outside sows, you opened my eyes that other people could brag running relatively new arcade games in public.

Are you implying you even have WMMT4?

You unnecessarily provide commentary to something pointless. What is private will forever remain public as observed during the Ancien Regime.

 No.387>>388

I understand this perfectly well and have no problem with that. What bothers me is making it too public like LOOK AT THIS IT RUNS ON UBUNTU which could be spotted by Namco and/or bootleggers.

Buddy do you think bootleggers haven't already pirated the shit out of Maxi 5dx?

 No.390

Can i just point out that if it's uploaded here then people are still going to see it and spread it around regardless so letsplay or not, it will still get exposure. The worst Namco can do is remove links

i love how you bitch about public exposure of data but will reupload things from a private community to your shitty file lockers. this place is a slippery slope of bullshit, either don't post links publicly or allow anything to happen after it gets posted here - you don't get to choose what happens after a link goes public

 No.438>>439

You confused me with someone. I'm not uploading games anywhere except sows. By "I've got the dump" I mean I'm actually the person who initially dumped the game, not downloaded it.
