I really like it. It is presented like the reality show ‘Big Brother’, with a group of contestants who have to live together in a house with cameras in every room for several months.
It is a psychological horror film, though it becomes more of a slasher toward the end. It has one of the most unique audio commentary tracks I have ever heard as well – the first one is a standard commentary with the crew, but the second one is an in-character commentary by the company that are running the show. It is surprisingly bleak too, so be prepared for that if you decide to give it a watch.

Very much so. I think you're right that the empty circle represents the moon and if you see it that way the shape takes on a resemblance to Ruby when she's expelling the blood under the moonlight. Uh-oh… My reputation is still in tatters after the ‘Where Eagles Dare’ debacle, I don’t think it can survive another blow. If you really hated ‘Fire Walk With Me’, it may be too similar for your liking. I was not a fan of Part 1 of ‘The Return’, but it grew on me. I did not nearly enjoy it as much as the original series though – not by a long shot. Too much nonsense and bad CGI. ‘Twin Peaks’ should be a dark crime thriller set in a small town with a distinct Lynchian tone, not all this weirdness happening all over the place just for the sake of being weird.

Depends who I am talking to. I often use English phrases and greetings and words when speaking to my closest family especially, and it is not uncommon that I forget the Norwegian word and have to use the English one, or have to do a double-think till I remember the Norwegian one – my youngest brother is exactly the same. And not only that, but I throw in some Swedish & Danish phrases here and there too, as well as some old-timey dialect words & expressions, so it can be a real clusterfuck some times. My family is probably somewhat unique in that regard though, and outside of it, I speak Norwegian. If I speak to someone from the capital (or the region around it) I would probably have to use the standard Norwegian pronunciation in order to be understood. If I had to guess I would say my dialect is just as thick and hard to understand to someone from the capital, as the most rural Scottish highland dialect compared to the ‘Queen’s English’.

Have you heard about this low-budget Italian Nazisploitation film called The Beast in Heat? It was probably an attempt to cash in on the success of Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS, which might be the grandmother of torture porn films. In the dubbed trailer for The Beast in Heat there is a scene of a female prisoner having her fingernails pulled out, and she sounds only midly annoyed by this in the dub. The head Nazi in the film is a chick, and she does kiss one of the female SS-guards. I doubt the film is worth watching, but it is on YT.

But also Amnesty was just more of the same; Kept was the only song that stood out to me, the rest didn’t leave an impression on me at all. It is easily the most gut-wrenching song I have heard. IMHO it should come with a warning.

Turns out my memory was a bit faulty; the only change to the uniform is that the rank ensignia is red, while the rest of the uniform is the same yellow.
I think a black & red combo would be much better tbh - like with Ruby in TND the red would symbolise danger as well as enhance the allusions to vampires by the similarity between the uniform and Dracula’s cape in the Universal film.

You’ve never played The Sims? Boy, have you been missing out! The Sims 2 is one of the comfiest games ever made. I have wasted more hours in character creation & in constructing and decorating houses and gardens than I have seriously played the main/actual game – though causing drama and conflict between the characters and NPCs in the neighbourhood is fun too. If you need to blow off some steam it is pretty satisfying to take it out on your Sims (ie artificial people).
If I’m not mistaken you can seduce pretty much every Sim in the game if you put enough effort into wooing them, regardless of gender.

I would encourage you to give it another go. In English is fine. Rand's writing style is very simple (and quite repetitive). I personally got a lot out of it. Read it a couple of times and plan to read it again. Some scenes just kill me. Like the train scene (you'll understand when you get to it). I watched the first one and I think I may have watched the second one. Never got around to the third, they're just not good. The copyright owner only made them to extend the copyright. Imo he should have let it expire, then talented people may have made something great. The Fountainhead novel is also worth reading. Some great characters and lines (But I don't think of you) and the old B&W movie with Gary Cooper I remember enjoying.

Quite so. When you get around to it, be sure to let me know what you think was going on.
It was a much harder watch than the two original seasons, and IMHO there was just too much weird stuff going on – in the original there was this ominous, eerie atmosphere and presence looming over the town, and this season lacks that subtlety. Not to mention the ending still makes my brain hurt just trying to make sense of it.

I think they posted the original trailer on their main channel (NewRetroWave) actually, and it opened with a shot of a city at night (Halogen City according to the opening text at the bottom), then it tilted down to a building, and inside a group of thugs were harassing a woman. I remember one of the thugs having a baseball bat over his shoulder, and one of them had a hoodie with purple LEDs around the edge of the hoodie. Then her BF showed up, whom the thugs beleived they had killed, and he started tearing thru the thugs. He was either undead or a cyborg.
Think it was posted 2014 or 2015, maybe 2016 at the latest.

The 1992 animated film Comet in Moominland would have been the ideal starting place, since it is a prequel to the 1990 anime TV series, Moomins. But, I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and the film has never been released in English! A real shame tbh. Many fond memories watching that film on VHS growing up.
The 1990 series is available in English however, and everyone are introduced, so for English-speakers it might be the place to start.
There is also a Polish stop motion animated series from 1977/82, that has been dubbed into English. Really beautiful, atmospheric, and quite dark, but so are the original stories at times.
If you want to go to the source, look up Tove Jansson’s original stories and illustrations. She also made a black & white newspaper strip with the Moomins. I assume the stories have been translated into English, certainly the newspaper strips have.
I had a book called ‘The Big Moomin Book’ growing, and it had Tove’s original stories and illustrations and the newspaper strips collected. Very beautiful and weird illustrations… Really imaginative work. Some of the colour illustrations remind me of Mary Blair’s work.

Anything by Agalloch is worth checking out; great folk/doom metal, just a treat to listened to.
Opeth is another band I would recommend, at least their earlier stuff/before the Heritage album. There is a lot of variation even in their early albums though; Damnation is their mellowest and least-metal album.
Aussie band Austere is really good – heard the sub genre referred to as a ‘wall of sound’, similar to Deafheaven (‘Sunbather’: https://invidio.us/watch?v=GfbLWHT7vUU).
TL;DR: You can’t go wrong with Agalloch.

There is another all-female Japanese metal band as well: Baby Metal. Not all that familiar with them, but Wikipedia describes them as a ‘kawaii metal band’. Not my cup of tea, I think. Though if you like looking at cutesy Nips in Lolita dresses this is the band for you. Seriously, these girls look like they are still in elementary school.

One thing that stood out in particular that made me listen more closely was when she pointed out the child molestation joke comics that would be placed next to or within a page or two of sexually explicit images. Idunno, There are some elderly old feminist crones out there. Saw one example from the most memorable episode of the British late night talkshow ‘After Dark’. Oliver Reed (who had the main, and maybe his first, role in the Hammer film ‘Curse of the Werewolf’), was drunk (they also served alcohol to the guests, and Oliver kept filling his glasses throughout the episode), he kept interrupting everyone, and he topped it off by kissing her. Wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be true. Seen some of the comedy illustrations from Playboy from back in the olden days – Dean Yeagle, Erich Sokol, Doug Sneyd & Gahan Wilson – and while most of them are on the lewd side, there wasn’t anything that made light of child molestation. These illustrators probably worked from the 1960s to 1970s or thereabouts though, so maybe things really did take a turn for the worse in the 1980s…

Reading about her relationship with Henry it seems unlikely that the sapphic interpretations are correct. I imagine the painter may even have belonged to the cliques that criticised her calling her the 'Duchess of Filth'. And they were so relaxed and open about everything they just couldn't care less. Sound like a cool couple. It's so sad that she died just 9 years after they fell in love.

There is something about the setting and English accent that seems off; a U.S. setting just seems more fitting for a TV series about a top secret taskforce fighting vampires. The guy who plays the lead in the U.S. pilot does a fine job, and Mädchen is top notch; just think, we could have had Mädchen play a vampiress! There is something really familiar about that doctor chick too…

Crikey! She played Victoria Winters/Josette du Pres in the 1991 version of ‘Dark Shadows’, and she was in ‘Phantoms’ (1998) alongside Peter O’Toole, Rose McGowan, Liev Schreiber & Ben Affleck! No wonder there was something familiar about her! Probably didn’t recognise her without that massive ’90s hairdo.
Justine Waddell was a total qt 3,14 in Dracula 2000; that short hair style is reminiscent of Audrey Horne/Sherilyn Fenn.

That sounds pretty rad, but not the same. There is a time loop in CoS though, and it’s not quite scifi and not quite fantasy, but something in-between, and it has been called “the scariest programme ever made for children.” Very interesting and unique show… they don’t make shows like this for children anymore – it treats the younger characters with respect and doesn’t speak down to them or the audience in a very refreshing way.
The whole thing is up on YT if you want to check it out. Freddie Jones is in it – he was in one of the Hammer Frankenstein films; Iain Cuthberthson is a noted character actor and theatre director; and Veronica Strong is absolutely delectable.

In the main role you have Andrew Leman, and Sean Branney as the priest. Both are involved in the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society, and appear in their film adaptations of The Call of Cthulhu (2005), and The Whisperer in Darkness (2011). Unless I am mistaken they are both amateur actors – didn’t know they sang too, but there was something really familiar about their voices.

Even I could see she is dreaming, longing for the night. She certainly isn’t scared, though perhaps slightly apprehensive.
I can see it as being mostly in her mind though – hazy flashbacks of what has happened. You can see the masked guy asleep in her bed in the opening. That would explain the strangeness of the music video as well – the clearly artificial street, the ballet dancers, and the hallway with the arms reaching out for her. RIP anon. How are people taking it there? I am very skeptical of our official numbers of infected considering our demographics. I am itching for them to close the school so I can bug out for a while. Alas everything keeps ticking over here while my skin crawls watching it all unfold. Caught some of Mister Metokur’s latest streams about the outbreak, and it sounds like he’s got a similar fixation on the oubtreak like you, though I’m almost certain you’ve got him beat with that 4,4GB Corona folder.
Btw., back in the late 1890s/early 1900s Theodor Kittelsen did a number of illustrations for a book on the Black Death, and some of them feature original plague-death-chan! Holy mother of based, the dyke gang isn't just a thought experiment anymore. After reading the claim on /tv/ that t.A.T.u. were faux lesbians I decided to investigate a bit and while it turns out that is true, one of the singers has a dyke gang mentality. She wouldn't accept a gay son ("a fag" like she said in the interview) and said it "isn't natural" but wouldn't mind a lesbian daughter and said girls with girls are "aesthetically nicer".
