Industry stuff is starting to filter in from these two shows.

Brownells announces new lower for the BRN-180.

http://archive.ph/wip/Iuguk

PSA is bringing their long awaited MP5 Clone. People are saying the welds look like shit in detail photos

http://archive.ph/wip/8AzeL

PSA is also bringing a new upper that . Basicly the BRN180 for cheaper without the AR18 ascetics.

http://archive.ph/wip/H23Cl

And a Glock 19 clone. That would be meh, but the price is $300. If PSA sells the slide and lower parts kit separately, that's a huge boon to the 80% market.

Oh and PSA will offer a Scorpion mag 9mm AR15 platform.

http://archive.ph/wip/w9tak

I suspect rental ranges are a target market. High-cap glock mags, like all single feed mags, aren't too reliable in full auto. Since tourists renting this stuff aren't operators, even a malf that can be fixed with a charging handle pull is bad for the experience. A proper double feed curved mag mitigates that a great deal.

I hope that ar18 upper has 18in+ barrel options. A right side or changeable charging handle would also be nice

Henry announced within the last couple days a sidegate .357/.44/.45colt/45-70/.410bore levergat, but unfortunately its a polymer stock with rails and semi-tacticool looking thing. The world yearns for a .357 side loader in their nice wood and brass stocks, why do they spurn all that potential money?

>PSA is bringing their long awaited MP5 Clone. People are saying the welds look like shit in detail photos

Their struggle has been to get roller delayed to work and be profitable at about $1000, because no one would pay more than that. I kinda expected it to be sloppy, but you'd think they at least cherrypick some samples.

Maybe a good poorfag option after the 1-3 year paid beta testing period? Their AKs are only recently getting good-ish.

The .357 has use in places where 5.56 autoloader is prohibited. Others are pointless.

Another nice thing is the end-plates on Scorpion mags don't have a tendency to fly off and spray brass everywhere if you drop a loaded one onto the concrete. I just hope the BHO on palmetto lowers works well.

>Maybe a good poorfag option after the 1-3 year paid beta testing period?

Exactly. If they can get a handgun with a holosun dot out for just over $500 that's gonna be my recommendation for everyone on buying their first handgun.

I absolutely love the fact that it's apparently impossible to replicate a 50 year old design using an almost 80-year old mechanism of action.

Small wonder that there are any non-AR guns in the US at all.

It's not that it's impossible it's that there's no TDP, it's all hand assembled steel (and therefore expensive) and that the main point of making a delayed blowback 9mm longarm is non-existant with the Hughes Amendment in place.

>roller-delayed blowback pointless because '86

Jesus Christ man, get your shit together.

If you can't even remake a design which was explicitly about being low-cost and high reliability, you have failed as a business.

Why are you trying to defend these losers?

And why does the assault weapons ban mean there is no point in making a 9mm longarm?

Have you missed the rise in popularity of PCCs?

Are you saying they are all simple blowback? Because they're not.

Roller-delay has always been a German thing because you need precision and a certain amount of engineering autism to get it to work.

This is a skill I am very much doubting most American gun companies could ever be arsed to develop when you can just shit out your very own flavor of AR-derivative and people will buy it.

I mean, look at the awful attempts at making an American AK.

It's the same with everything that isn't an AR: unwillingness or inability to deliver quality, since quality is entirely optional with the American gun market being as closed off as it is.

Adding to that is the modern consoomer mentality of white-knighting whatever company you bought from.

Heck, there are even people who will defend HMG to this very day.

It was cheap to make on the manufacturing of the time. Same with AK. That doesn't mean it's cheap to make with modern tooling. Modern PCCs are designed for modern techniques.

Nice.

Did any US company ever jump on that DoD request to make soviet pattern weapons for "allies"? I honestly expected SVD to be the one companies would consider due to it also having plenty of civilian sale potential.

I was surprised at how much pistol braces and "PDW" type weapons have proliferated in the market at shot show. It seems like every manufacturer has realized you can just sell short-barreled stuff with no repercussions now.
