Could mean no LEGO Batman 2. Which I'm fine with. Only the first LEGO movie was good. LEGO Batman had black swapped characters galor, a really Joker shipping subplot, & Dick Grayson who may as well be a completely different character. Then LEGO Movie 2 happened with an ultimate message of "masculinity bad" for all the young boys in the audience. Never saw the Ninjago movie. I just know it fucked with all the lore the series built up.

Honestly what else can they do with lego? They don't even want to acknowledge bionicle was a thing.

Concept art for the second movie originally had a Bionicle character with Rex along with the raptors. Shows how much contempt they have for the franchise to not even include that.

Personally I think someone in the production saw how bad the movie was going to be and pulled the bionicle for its own safety.

That's a bit too hopeful for me to believe. I think LEGO just doesn't see Bionicle as profitable whatsoever so they didn't want to have to include them in new toys under the movie license.

Why does Lego hate Bionicle? This line was heavily advertised (at least in Europe) back in 00s. It seemed successful, since every boy wanted his favorite Bionicle, there were tie in comics, and even posters included with magazines for kids.

I know that the line was discontinued after a decade due to low sales, but why are they trying to bury it? Are they afraid to get in trouble in case people will remember the Maori lawsuit?

First time it was cancelled to make way for Hero Factory. The reboot sets sold worse than anything before. Probably doesn't help they weren't advertised well. LEGO just doesn't seem to wanna bring up the franchise anymore because they think it isn't profitable.

They actually killed bionicle for hero factory. The lore maker and writer for the comics/books had a few more arcs planned but was told to wrap it up, probably because the lore was super convoluted at that point. Then Hero Factory failed miserably and they tried to bring back Bionicle and then it was killed due to low sales.

Just out of curiosity did the low sales of star wars toys play a factor? I know they kept trying to sell the star wars sets for the new trilogy but it didn't sell that well.

I wonder what more story arcs the lore maker had planned? Last I heard a meteor killed Makuta when he possessed Mata Nui's body and Mata Nui re-united the three planets together.
