I'm depressed because I there is no romance in my life, and there is no romance in my life because I'm depressed. I've begun to realize love is a base psychological need and it is nigh-impossible to truly be happy without it.
I tried explaining this to a therapist/"counselor" but they argued against it, saying that "Many learn to be happy without love." I responded by saying that their comment implicitly acknowledged that I was right, because one has to learn to be happy without love, implying that the default statecp is unhappy. Additionally, I also remarked that their comment didn't actually offer me a solution to my problems, rather it suggested to simply ignore them, which is a very unintuitive way to deal with issues. They quickly changed the subject.
How do I rectify this, especially in our brave new love-less world?

All you have to do is accept that women are incapable of feeling empathy towards men and that in this day and age they aren't worth your energy. Also, you need to realise that your desire for women comes from your natural desire to have sex.
