This was actually the storyline they used to build the match. Cody was the cocky asshole who claimed that everyone here who says they're the best just got beat by an outsider. I have no idea where they take it from here but I imagine they can use it to build a really strong babyface to rise up the ranks and take down the outsider and bring some respect back to ROH. No idea if that'll work but at least they are addressing this issue in storyline.
